BEAUTIFUL HISTORIC COTTAGE WITH GENEROUS USE OF POOL & TENNIS COURT

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Heathfield - Little Bucksteep Oast House

A beautiful 3 bedroomed cottage which sleeps 7 people.

--- SPECIAL OFFER ---

Little Bucksteep Oast House is a gem of a self catering holiday cottage in Dallington, East Sussex, rated 4* by Visit England. It is a beautiful old English Country Cottage, dating from the late 17th century, set in the midst of the beautiful private gardens of a gorgeous Queen Anne Manor House. Guests have very generous use of the private swimming pool and tennis court apart from Sunday afternoons and Bank holiday afternoons. Oast houses are typical of East Sussex and Kent, and were used to dry hops for beer making.

The Oast has many period features including beams, wooden paneling, leaded windows, old stone walls and a wood burning stove and is furnished with lovely old furniture. The master bedroom has a beautiful 4 poster bed, and with the windows open you can forget the city and just listen to the birdsong and the peace and quiet. Truly a very special self catering holiday home.

Pampering and Exercise weekends and holidays are also available, which incorporate the wonderful Lotte Berk exercise classes, the original ballet barre exercise method, beauty and massage treatments. For the total luxury experience we can also arrange for the weekend to be catered with delicious home cooked food.

What a delight to be able to see England for the first time from the perspective of Little Bucksteep. The setting is so relaxing, beautiful and so easy on the eyes and ears. Close to airports, ferries and London. Set in beautiful countryside, with lovely old pubs. Very generous use of private pool and tennis court. Bikes for hire on the property. Glyndebourne is close by with world class opera. Beautiful gardens abide in this part of Sussex. If the pool becomes dull, the beach is within an hours drive too.

The Oast is special because it is old and beautiful and we have tried to furnish it in character with lovely old pieces. The open plan dining room/ kitchen is a lovely large sunny room and flooded with light. Guests have very generous use of a private swimming pool and tennis court. The huge 4 poster bed in the top roundel bedroom is a gorgeous luxury.

FANTASTIC Girls weekend away - Second Year Running

You could not ask for more for a weekend retreat with your 5 best friends.
Heated swimming pool with a little slide, tennis court with rackets & balls provided, snuggly log burner in the lounge, (you can collect your own logs from the log store) and the comfiest beds.
Fiona is an incredibly friendly host who welcomes you with passion and care but then leaves you to your own devices and Monty the dalmation is a delight - an extremely placid and friendly dog.
The Oast is set in peaceful, beautiful surroundings and inside the property is absolutely perfect. A lovely open plan layout makes it ideal to spend with a small group of your favourite people, with family or as a couple.
This was our second annual visit and we will be back again next year for sure. We didn't want to leave!
The perfect getaway for a break from hectic London life. I simply cannot recommend Little Bucksteep highly enough!
Owner's Response: Thank you for the lovely review and we really look forward to welcoming you all back for a third time! You'll be our first third timers, so really special for us to be on your annual weekend away list, very flattering indeed. Please come back! X

We have just returned from an idyllic fortnight at the oast. Our hosts, Fiona, Robert and Monty Dog were very welcoming and in addition to a basket of goodies and garden produce we even were given an extra bottle of wine to celebrate Emma's A level results!

The oast is a very special, spiritual place and extremely comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed having a relaxing swim in the warm pool whenever we liked and playing tennis to the accompaniment of baa and neigh from the adjacent fields, or just lying around reading . All in all, this is the best holiday rental that we have ever had and we would love to return in the future.
Owner's Response: Thank you for the lovely review, and it was a fabulous first for us to have you at the Oast when Emma got her simply fantastic A level results - that will be a very tough act for anyone else to follow! We would love to see you again - just promise to bring the sun with you again..

We had a wonderful time at the Oast and thanks to the weather we could use the pool nearly every day. But even without having been able to do that there's so much to see and visit nearby that you could easily spend a longer time there. The house is very well equipped, nothing was missing!!
Owner's Response: We are delighted that you had a wonderful time, and very pleased you had such lovely weather - and that the house lived up to expectations. Please come again and see more of the joys of Sussex, and we very much hope to welcome you back again.

Romantic, authentic and a marvelous house

Coming to East Sussex and especially to Little Bucksteep oast house was for us like stepping into a dreamworld. The oast house was marvelous and like a fairy tale house. With its lovely garden and the swimming pool.
We are a family with a teenager en a younger boy. Both of them just loved the house and bathing in the pool and when the weather was a bit cooler (Because it was really sunny and warm) we played tennis. From the house we traveled to Brighton, Battle, Rye, Arundel ( is a must). Just nearby we bought some local grocery in small but were friendly local store(old fashioned) or ate at the local pub Horse & Groom. ( 8 min drive) .
For a romantic gateway a with kids this was perfect holiday for us.
Owner's Response: To our first Norwegian guests, thank you for your lovely review and please come again - and if all Norwegians are like you, we hope to have many more Norwegians coming to stay! I'm so glad the weather was so fabulous for your stay, it was lovely to see so much swimming and tennis being enjoyed. Come back soon..

Out-of -this-world! Exceeded all expectations!

Our family stayed at this property for just over 2 weeks and the only bad thing was leaving! The hosts (and their sweet dog and kitty) made us feel very welcome, extremely comfortable, as if we were truly home away from home. They were helpful in suggesting places to go, shopping, tips for living in the UK. Sleeping arrangements are excellent for large families, beds are comfortable. The house is well equipped, especially the kitchen. We did lots of cooking and enjoyed our meals either outside or at the large farm table. Kids loved the swimming pool and tennis courts. It is safe, exceedingly quiet and a great location for touring things like Bodiam, Battle, Sissinghurst, Bateman, Rye, Hever, etc. Local pubs are fun. We walked one night to Horse and Groom in Rush Lake Green. House is pristine and everything in great working order including internet. We have subsequently stayed in two other properties during this trip and Little Bucksteep is far and away the best. We will not hesitate to recommend and hope to return!
Owner's Response: Thank you for the fabulous review - I can only say we loved having your family here too, you all fitted in as if you'd been living here for ages and it was a delight having you here. You fitted in so many trips and expeditions, and your daily runs to Rushlake Green made you more local than the locals. We miss you, please come and stay again!
