Wonderful 3 Bedroomed Boat House with Balcony giving you Lake & Mountain Views

This newly renovated Boat House has a large open plan lounge which has 2 very large settees, large TV with free view and a DVD player and WiFi. The dining area can seat up to 6 people. The kitchen is fully fitted with Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, Microwave. Oven and Hob. Patio doors lead from the lounge on to a large walk on Balcony giving you wonderful views of Lake Windermere and the mountains.

There are 3 bedrooms.

Bedroom 1 has kingsize bed bedside cabinets with large fitted wardrobes and plenty of drawer space leading to ensuite shower, basin and toilet and underfloor heating.

Bedroom 2 has kingsize bed with bedside cabinets, wardrobe and drawers.

Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds, bedside cabinets fully fitted wardrobe and drawers.

Family bathroom with bath, over head shower, toilet and basin, with underfloor heating.

There is a room for hanging coats and storing shoes and boots.

Osprey Boat House has private parking for 2 vehicles.

Lake Windermere is the largest lake in England and is in the Lake Districts National Park.

A beautiful place with stunning scenery very popular for water sports and plenty of walks available to everyone of all ability.

There are also some exceptionally well known restaurants in the surrounding area.

This property is in walking distance to Bowness where you will find a large choice of shops and restaurants. There is Beatrix Potters Attraction which also has a tea room. Cinema, Tennis, Pitch and Put and lots of different boating opportunities.

On the Glebe you can catch a Steamer to take you up and down the lake. Lakes Aquarium is at the southern end of the lake where you will also find Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. There is also a dedicated bus which will take you to Lakeland Motor Museum.

Ambleside is at the northern end of the lake set amongst breathtaking majestic mountains, it is a very attractive Lakeland village with many outdoor shops and individual shops.

Brockhole is a visitor centre which has large gardens and play area for children which you can call in at when travelling on a steamer.

Blackwell the Arts & Crafts House is about 1 mile away and most definitely worth a visit.

Further afield you have Hill Top at Near Sawrey which is Beatrix Potter's home remaining very much as when she lived there.

Hawkshead is a true Lakeland Village with cobbled streets and clusters of whitewashed cottages huddles around secluded courtyards. There is once again a wide choice of individual shops

Grisedale Forest Park has an extensive range of marked trails.

Tarn Hows is a well known beauty spot which has easy access.

Ulverston is not too far away this is the home town of Stanley Laurel the partner of Oliver Hardy who became the well known slap stick duo Laurel & Hardy.

A fantastic find on the internet Osprey boat house, we had a wonderful time here, the boat house was very clean and very modern, loved sitting on the balcony with my camera catching the ducks go by. FABULOUS STAY

I booked this accomodation to stay with my two boys during the Easter Break - my parents joined us and we had a wonderful time. The accomodation was fabulous, a real luxuary treat for everyone, the owner Helen, was brilliant, really friendly and helpful. The boys had a fantastic time - very safe environment to let them have some freedom exploring and only a roll down the hill on our bikes to the ferry crossing - wonderful weather allowed us to make the most of the balcony area and enjoy life on the lake and the beautiful surroundings. We will definately return again in the future. Thank you.

GREAT HOUSE IN A PERFECT LOCATION!

We were delighted with the Osprey Boat House, which was absolutely perfect for our week in the Lake District. Among its strengths are great position right on the lake with fantastic views from the terrace and the living room, very near the ferry for good cycling (and conveniently right next door to kayak and bike rental!), nice off-road walk into Bowness, lovely interior, very clean, everything works. We loved it!

PERFECT HOLIDAY ACCOMODATION

Perfect holiday accommodation in the Lake District! Osprey House looks small from the outside but inside provides excellent comfortable, spacious accommodation for 6. It is exceptionally warm, well equipped and tastefully furnished. It is very well situated for visiting Ullswater and Coniston and has a stunning view of Windermere. My worries about being situated on the road to the ferry were totally unfounded as it is tucked away so there is no noise of traffic from the ferry road. It just makes it very convenient to hop on the ferry!
We had a wonderful few days walking and cycling.
Thoroughly recommended!

A VERY BEAUTIFUL PLACE!

Booking holidays in a boathouse? Well... it's the most beautiful boathouse we've seen so far, although I must admit, that there are not too many boathouses in Switzerland. We spent one week in this lovely place. The building has oviously been refurbished to a very high standard. The house is tastefully decorated - on our arrival we even found a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers on the living room table - very nice indeed! Having a glass of wine on the balcony, overlooking lake windermere, the trees with their autumn foliage, watching the ferry and all the other boats definitely brings the holiday mood. Even the weather was mostly very "un british", meaning on the sunny side... we'd love to come back one day!

A TOP CLASS HOLIDAY RENTAL - A FANTASTIC LOCATION

A fantastic holiday home where we were provided with absolutely everything & even a welcome pack that settled us into the holiday feel straight away. We came to the boat house with our 2 children (ages 17 & 11) & this area offered great things to do where we covered kayaking, motor boats, paddle boards on Coniston & "Go Ape" in Grizedale + many others.
The location is only 10 minutes walk away from Bowness which offered us some great restaurants & also allowed a drink without any driving...!!! - a bonus.
The boat house has a fabulous layout with an open plan living area with top class fittings and facilities (incl wireless connection, docking station for ipod & Sky TV).
We also used the kitchen facilities which provided all the necessary equipment & utensils to cook whatever we wanted.
The bedrooms are also fabulous with the main bedroom having an en-suite (with heated floors & power shower...), bedroom 2 has a kingsize double bed and the third bedroom has 2 single beds with plenty of additional room - a separate bathroom (with overhead shower) is available for the other 2 rooms. There is also a boiler room that we used for drying out our wetsuits & wet gear.
Actually, on top of the quality fixtures, fittings & utilities the best part of the boat house is the balcony where we ate alfesco and sat out with a glass or two of wine taking in the views and relaxing. On a couple of occasions we fed the ducks, swans & seaguls (seaguls taking bread thrown into the air- very acrobatic) all from the balcony.
The area is quiet at night and in the morning - in fact it was nice to get up early and sit out on the balcony looking out onto a lake, that represented a peaceful mill-pond - a relaxing start to the day.
The boat house is also situated just a few yards away from Ferry Nab (The ferry) which is great for walking as the west side of the lake is mainly owned by the National trust thanks to Beatrix Potter...
It only leaves me to say thankyou to Helen (who lives just around the corner from the boat house...) who owns the 2 boat houses for creating these fantastic holiday homes for people like us to enjoy and relax in this wonderful location.

We will be back...!!!

A stunning Boat House on the shores of Lake Windermere with amazing views of the Lake and Mountains.

Osprey Boat House offers a truly unique experience. Having a balcony the full width of the building where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine while watching boats traveling up and down the Lake.

This property offers exceptional location and wow factor views.

Dating back to the late 19th Century and used to store a Gentleman's Launch. It has been totally refurbished with stylish and contemporary decor and has wooden beams through out.

Inside is an open plan lounge, dining area and a fully fitted kitchen. A hall way leads to 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles with King sized beds one with Ensuite bathroom. 1 twin bedded room along with a Family bathroom with overhead shower each bathroom has underfloor heating.

There is private parking for 2 vehicles. And a walk way leading to the Lake.

Very well situated for all activities in easy walking distance to Bowness on Windermere, where you will find Beatrix Potter's Attraction, the Glebe where you can catch a Steamer to tour the Lake or hire a rowing boat. There is a good selection of shops and cafes.

Blackwell House is close by along with lots of amazing walks and cycling routes, sailing activities too with a golf course within 2 miles.
