This magnificent Grade 2 Listed, four-bedroom holiday home has been lovingly restored and refurbished. It is beautifully presented throughout, making extensive use of Victorian and other antique furniture, together with six charming fire-places. Set in the heart of Ryde, it is particularly convenient for all the local shops, cafés, restaurants and, of course, the esplanade with its glorious, sandy beaches, ice-rink and bowling alleys.

Set over three floors and arranged to provide flexible and substantial accommodation, this property caters for families and groups of all shapes and sizes.

There are charming sea glimpses across The Solent from the top floor bedrooms and the lounge on the first floor. The main kitchen and dining room are both well equipped with all the modern conveniences, including a dish-washer and washing-machine. In addition to the 2nd floor shower room with toilet and wash-basin, there is a further family bathroom and separate WC in the main part of the house. Two of the four spacious bedrooms have a private shower, whilst each one has its own wash-basin.

The south-facing rear garden is spacious and provides a real sun-trap! It is mainly lawned with a wind-protected patio area, together with adequate furniture. This oasis is ideal for sun-bathing and barbecues.

The front of the building boasts off-road parking for two vehicles.

This awesome holiday home is full of character and offers the opportunity to really enjoy a care-free stay on this most exquisite English island, with all you could possibly need, being close at hand!

HISTORY: This Grade 2 Listed 1844 Victorian residence was owned by wealthy families with live-in servants.

In August 2010 the present owners, Vyvyan and Lynn Richards, undertook the massive project of restoring this badly neglected building to its former glory.

Besides replacing most of the ground level flooring with original Victorian pine, introducing adequate sub floor ventilation, painting and decorating, they also restored 3 of the 6 Victorian fireplaces, making use of original tiles, surrounds and metal inserts.

In July 2011 the twelve-month project was completed.

Subsequently, this magnificent four bedroom residence with spacious accommodation for eight guests, was furnished with top quality beds, together with Victorian and other antique furniture.

The secluded, south-facing garden is a veritable sun-trap with patio and pergola, furnished with table and chairs.

The lawned area provides adequate space for ball games and sun-bathing.

HOMELY, COMFORTABLE, CLOSE TO THE SEA AND SHOPS.

Me and my friend had a wonderful time on the Island. The weather was not brilliant but watching TV and playing games was a good way to just relax. The home was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The garden was well maintained and we had several meals on the patio. We would definitely return to the island and stay in this lovely Victorian home. Thanks guys, you did a great job in making our holiday one to remember.

VERY CLEAN, COSY AND SPACIOUS

We had such a lovely time here. The owners made us feel very welcome. The whole place was so clean and pretty. The seaside, shops, train station and busses were in easy reach. We wouldn't hesitate to come back here and would recommend this stay to anyone!

AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL BB THROUGHOUT

Owner's Response: Being in a prime central location of Ryde, Doranes is ideal for every type of holiday.
If you enjoy fine dining and the night life, these are within easy reach.
If you fancy the beach and leisurely ambles along the esplanade, a ten minute walk will get you there.
What about shopping for clothing, gifts or knickknacks? Doranes provides convenient access.
Bowls, ice-skating, skate-boarding, pedal-boats and fun-fare include some of exciting activities on the Ryde beachfront.
We even have our own cinema a stone‘s-throw away.
