Stable Cottage is perfectly placed to explore the beautiful South Hams. The bustling little port of Dartmouth is just a 10 minute drive, there is no better place to go and watch the boats going up and down the lovely River Dart and it is full of first class shops, pubs and restaurants. From a boat trip, to a ride on the steam train up to Buckfastleigh or a trip to Dartmouth Castle, there is no shortage of things to keep you entertained. Just 5 minutes drive from the cottage is Woodlands, Devon's best indoor and outdoor entertainment for kids of all ages.
Beaches of course are a must. The award-winning Blackpool Sands is just 5 minutes by car, with a range of water sports and the famous Venus cafe which serves up terrific local produce. Slapton Sands is the same distance away, just behind it lies the famous nature reserve of Slapton Ley and there is nothing better than a later afternoon walk to The Start Bay Inn at Torcross for one of their famous fish and chip suppers.
The rest of the South Hams is on your doorstep, all of it less than a 25 minute drive. The lovely town of Salcombe, the beaches at Bigbury with its renowned Burgh Island Hotel and the sea tractor which will take you across the water to the Pilchard Inn when the tide is high.
