History & Background: Villa Alina is owned by Alirio and Noemia Nazareth. This beautiful ancestral home was built in 1926 by Alirio’s father, Antonio Jasso who named it after his wife Alina.
Back then, it was built on the deserted Calangute beach in North Goa and today it feels like an oasis of tranquility in the midst of the enjoyable hustle and bustle of the surrounding area.
For the last twenty years, the owners regularly spent three months a year at Villa Alina escaping the cold London winter. During this time they worked hard to maintain the house as a most welcoming holiday home for their four children and ten grand children who have all grown to love everything about Goa.
The children took responsibility for restoring this beautiful Portuguese influenced villa to its former glory but with the addition of some modern comforts.
With an excellent architect and builder who specialize in high quality, sympathetic renovations, work began on the house in March 2006 and was completed a year later.
Today: We have renovated our furniture and sourced antique beds, tables and chairs. There are fully equipped hand built kitchens with Jaipur granite work tops. All rooms have ceiling fans and bedrooms have now been upgraded with air conditioning which is essential in the late season (April-June).
The 12m x 6m infinity swimming pool is a huge hit with all our family and guests. Soak up the sun as you relax on the sunbeds, handmade from recycled antique teakwood furniture from the house.
We plan to enjoy this wonderful, comfortable ancestral home for ourselves but also to rent it out to people who enjoy staying in luxury, traditional Goan homes instead of impersonal five star hotels.
Most people who visit Goa for the first time always return and we believe that Vila Alina will have that same memorable effect on all our guests.
We know you will enjoy and appreciate Vila Alina as much as we do.

Allan Nazareth purchased this villa in 90
We refurbished this property in 2006 and added en-suite bathrooms and the swimming pool so that we could rent it out.
All the family still use the house from time to time for family holidays and to celebrate special occasions with friends and family groups.
We are very proud of our heritage and family home and welcome you to share it on your family holidays.
It is close to the sea and the beach shacks (7 minutes walk) and has many lovely restaurants close by.
This is a busy area but with the large land surrounding the property and trees grown around the boundary it is a haven of tranquility.
The veranda has a table that sits 16 people so its a wonderful time for bonding and enjoying friends and family during your memorable holiday.
We have many return visits by our guests as you will see from our guest book in the villa.
The Villa has monsoon blinds so can be rented throughout the year. Although its the rainy season there are many wonderful bright days interspersed with the rainy days. The transparent blinds can be raised when the rain stops to let in the clear light and the vegetation is totally different from the other seasons.
Our staff are second to none and will make your stay truly enjoyable and memorable.
Carpe Diem - grab it while you can!
What a fabulous 2 weeks! A really memorable experience in the most luxurious surrounding! Beautiful beach, wonderful pool, great shacks! Thoroughly recommend Aggies!
We all feel so relaxed and have recharged our batteries thanks to the amazing team at Vila Alina. Top honours to Laxmi, Thomas and Henry for their wonderful support, service and incredible dinners! A great big thank you from all of us and best wishes for the future. xxx
Villa Alina is really something special! Fantastic house with rooms good enaugh for a royal family and a beautiful pool, serviceminded staff who took care of us all the time. We are 9 persons in our family who just love this place. Liam 5 years learnt to swim during our 10 days in the villa so he is lika "a fish in the water" now. A negative thing is that we loved the house so much so we did'nt leave the place to see more of Goa as we had planned... But... Goa will be there for us and I would be surprised if we did'nt go back next year!
On arriving at Vila Alina I was amazed at how beautiful the house was. It is spacious, has a lovely veranda with a view of the sunset in the distance - the perfect setting for a meal in the evening. We took advantage of the breakfast service every morning and also enjoyed delicious Goan food in the evening cooked by the maid.
The beach is a stone's throw away, where you can find shacks during peak season - great for lunch on the beach as well as drinks in the evening whilst listening to the sound of the waves.
Vila Alina is situated in the perfect location - there are a few shops near where you can change money, buy suncream/swimwear/food etc as well as some really good restaurants. There are always friendly taxi drivers nearby if you want to visit Panjim/Anjuna market/other beeches, who are very reasonably priced.
The beauty about staying at Vila Alina is that there is an efficient, friendly and helpful housekeeper, who is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that your holiday is perfect.
I will DEFINITELY be going back to Vila Alina - it was the most amazing holiday I've been on and staying Vila Alina made it extra special!
Overall we found the property to be accurately described with regard to location, layout and facilities. All of a high standard. The property was clean, well maintained, towels, bedding, etc., were replaced regularly. Rooms cleaned daily to a very high standard. The maid service was 100% and done with alacrity and courtesy. Any requests for help or advice actioned quickly. The Manager speaks excellent English and was full of local information, I found him extremely helpful at all times. *We were impressed when asking about a wheelchair for one member to find it was readily available at all times.
The local activities, shops, markets, places to visit such as The Basilica in Panjim, the Spice Farm are interesting and varied, so many other activies of which there are too many to mention, you need to visit them on the websites. (Which we did before going to Goa).
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Villa Alina to a friend or relative. Indeed this is my second visit to this lovely home and because I so enjoyed my first stay (in 2009), my husband and myself persuaded family and friends to join us this time in 2010.
Any advice to pass on........what can I say, put your toe in the pool, as we all did daily, and try the Villa Alina Goa, you will not regret it.
As a party of 13 including 3 children below the age of 6 we had an excellent time at Villa Alina. The villa was even better than we had hoped for and the staff was very kind and efficient.
It will be difficult to find a better villa in Goa!

We had a wonderful holiday in Goa in October and it was made perfect by our accommodation at the Villa Alina.
Our holiday began by being collected at the busy airport by a comfortable car - organised by the owners of the villa. Although the drive to the property is almost an hour the journey is constantly fascinating. At the Villa we were given a warm welcome by the staff t and an introduction to the house, the house rules and how things work i.e air conditioning, lights etc. It was clear that we could just ask if there was anything we needed or any information we had forgotten! The layout of the Villa is just as described with each of the four bedrooms being equally well appointed and each with their own bathroom. The living room and kitchen are comfortable and well equipped and the outside area and pool were more than we could have hoped for - especially the pool which is divine. For those who have stayed in holiday villas before there is everything you could want in the kitchen.
The Villa was spotless when we arrived and was kept beautifully clean and tidy throughout our stay. The rooms and the pool and all the outside areas were cleaned regularly, our linen and towels were changed and even our laundry was done for us. I have never had such a relaxing time!
The local shops were well stocked and are a short and cheap taxi ride away. We found an amazing choice of restaurants both within walking distance and, again, quick taxi rides away. The beach, as promised, is only a couple of minutes walk and it is, we know from experience, one of the nicest beaches in Goa.
Our children are teenagers and we felt they were perfectly safe to shop and go to the beach and the internet cafe (!) on their own. They loved their holiday and their independence.
We had a fantastic stay at Villa Alina and have already recommended it to many of our friends. We cant wait to be able to visit again.
Villa Alina feels like an oasis of tranquility in the midst of the enjoyable hustle and bustle of the surrounding area.
There are many wonderful things to do around the area, but perhaps best of all is hanging out on the beach. Apart from the beach shacks, there are many water sports or dolphin watching and amazing gourmet food and drinks to enjoy. Lots of bars and restaurants are at your door step.
Other places to visit locally are Anjuna, the night market, Mapusa and Panjim, the capital.
Other Activities: Luxury Beauty Spa, Excellent Restaurants.
