Beautiful cottage in beautiful setting

  • 4 out of 5
We stayed at River cottage for the week , it was such a lovely cosy little cottage and a joy to come home to every evening , despite not such good weather we had a lovely stay and loved the cosy comfort of River cottage.
The cream carpets were a worry with our dog but we managed well and he loved the dog bed !!!
Overall a lovely rental,we would definitely return again.

Lovely cottage, great location, but boiler problem

  • 2 out of 5
The house is lovely, and the location stunning, but unfortunately there was a problem with the boiler. On the first night it did not work at all. Fortunately the adjacent property was empty and the heating working, else would have been a freezing night! The owner rang the next day, and we did manage to get it working eventually but were afraid to turn it off (it did go off a couple times briefly). Apparently a repair man was scheduled to come during our stay, but as it started to work he did not show. We read in the comment book that there has been a problem with the boiler for years. This needs to be fixed, and then it would be 5 stars.

Owner's Response: After having three diferent experts???? to look at the boiler we eventually found the problem.
The system is now working perfectly and we have had no further problems with the heating.
