Costa Caleta (formerly known as Caleta de Fuste) thrives on tourism, with lots of accommodation to offer, a fantastic golden sandy beach popular for water sports enthusiasts. The tourist centre of El Castillo (the castle) stands next to the harbour and is well worth a visit. The town of Caleta is often referred to as a holiday village. The man made beach has been carefully constructed to avoid currents and is in the shape of a horse shoe. This ensures it is perfectly safe for children of all ages. Those wanting to be a little more adventurous can go diving, hire jet skis or learn to windsurf at the water centre on the beach. Costa Caleta harbour is home to many yachts, catamarans and boats which provide local trips as well as providing a beautiful backdrop in the evenings.
There is a multitude of good restaurants in Costa Caleta that can cater for all tastes at very reasonable prices.
I can also arrange trips to the new water park, Zoo and trips to Lanzarote for the day
Other Activities: Go Karting, Zoo, Water Park, Ferry to Lanzarote
Golf: Fuerteventura Golf Club is an 18 hole golf course with lush fairways, swaying palm trees and challenging water hazards. It's a par 71 round extending 6124 metres, with a mild descent from the Clubhouse Hotel heading towards the sea.
The course was designed by Architect Juan Catarimeau, who attempted to design it so anyone could play. Therefore there are just as many easy holes as there are hard ones. The course has simplicity added with beauty to make it one of the most spectacular Golf Courses in the world. Not to mention the all year round sunshine to play it in!
Its main difficulties are generally associated with the breeze and its many lakes and trees, however there are no trees on the fairways. The dominating breeze comes from the North and when it blows strongly it converts the course into a real challenge.
A free bus service to and from the Golf Club, Commercial Centre and Caleta Town (all within 5 minutes of each other) is available every 30 minutes up until 10pm.
As you will see below the current fees are €59 for 18 holes and you can rent out clubs for around €18 but prices can change without notice so its always a good idea to make sure you check with the club.
