3 bedroom cottage - sleeps 5-6 people

Accessed via a small bridge, Post Office Cottage is a very pretty semi-detached period cottage set in the heart of the village. The property has great character and can currently accommodate up to 6 people. On the ground floor there is a cosy sitting room with a log fire for those winter months. There is a fully fitted kitchen with open plan dining area. Upstairs a spacious master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and views across the green. The second bedroom has a double bed and a single bed. The third bedroom is a single.

A family bathroom is situated at the end of the corridor.

There is also a piano which is available to use.

Outside there is a secluded south facing garden with a stream running alongside the house.

The cottage is ideal for that quiet get-away, whether it be for a short break, a longer holiday or to use as a base from which to explore the local area. Please note this is a no smoking property.

Post Office Cottage is set in the heart of Walderton and is very convenient for access to the historic cities of Chichester and Portsmouth, as well as the South Downs National Park. Chichester is a short drive away and offers a wealth of shopping and leisure facilities, as well as a wide choice of cafes and restaurants. The city of Portsmouth is to the west and is home to the historic dockyards of the Royal Navy, with attractions such as the Marie Rose and HMS Warrior, as well as the modern Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Quays. There are many beautiful walks in the local countryside, including part of the South Downs Way. Along the coast you will also find some great beaches, including one of the best in the south of England at West Wittering. Another big attraction to the area is the horse and motor racing event at nearby Goodwood, which include the world famous Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.

Our party, consisting of two couples, two kids (14 & 11) and two dogs, enjoyed a wonderful stay in Walderton during October half-term. You can truly get away from it here - there is no mobile phone signal or shop.
We have hired a number of places in recent years and Post Office Cottage is certainly one of the best. It's a good size but very cosy and well appointed, with nice comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen (five potato peelers!). We were looking forward to lighting the fire but it was very warm for the time of year.
Being on the egde of the Downs, this is a perfect area for walking and a good base for exploring this part of Sussex. There is an alpaca farm about a 20 minute walk away, which is worth a visit.
We were made to feel very welcome at The Barley Mow, which is just a few doors along. Tremendous pint of Doom Bar and good food - the Wednesday night all-you-can-eat curry is great value.
Lovely accommodation, terrific area and a great service provided by the owner.
Highly recommended.

I would reccommend this property for many reasons, even before we arrived, the service provided was excellent. The owner responded to my email the same day, after we had been let down by another provider. The cottage itself was faultless, clean, warm and with an open fire, perfect for this time of year. There is so much to do in this area, lots of great walking, and NT properties to visit. The village itself is quiet and peaceful, everything you need for a realxing break.

2-3 Post Office Cottages

We all fell in love with this beautiful cottage and surrounding area, it was just perfect!

The village is very friendly even though it is small and we where only there for a long weekend. The countryside around the cottage is so beautiful and you can do as little or as much as you want. We enjoyed the walking and local pubs!

The cottage is very well presented and completely looked after; I would even say loved! There's everything you need for a holiday getaway and much more - I couldn't get over how well equipped the kitchen was, just brilliant for someone like me who loves good food and wine!

I would also say how easy the whole booking process was. The owner is very quick to reply to any questions or queries, which made me feel at ease.

I would recommend this little gem to anyone, a real home from home x

The perfect location to spend a relaxed holiday. We received a warm welcome to this beautifully presented cottage, with everything provided for a relaxed stay.
We enjoyed wonderful walks and cycle rides, with routes safe enough for children of all ages. No busy roads, just miles of stunning countryside to explore.
The coast is a short drive away, with beautiful sandy beaches. We recommend West Wittering for safe swimming and good facilities, Bosham for sailing and charm, and Chichester for excellent shopping.
Thank you so much for a lovely holiday, we will definitely be back next year.

beening keen walkers this cottage was perfect for us, set right in the heart of the south downs there are walks stright out of the door. The cottage has a cosy feel to it and the mastersuite bed is heaven. The kitchen is fully equiped and leads stright out on to the south facing garden, where we had lots of bbqs. There is a good pub within walking distance which serves great food (could spend the week there with out cooking!) There is no shop in the village so have to be prepared with food essentials, but otherwise we had a great week.
We hope to go back in the winter so we can cosy up by the fire in the sitting room.
