The country house Son Bia is a 1km far away from Santa Margarita town where you can find bus stops, artisan boutiques, the market, and many bars, some of them with delicious local Mallorcan food (cheeses, olives, honey, fig bread…).

Most of Mallorca’s best beaches are found in the north and east side of the coast, a distance about 8km away from Son Bia. From Can Picafort beach to Alcudia bay, there is a continuous string with white sand and crystalline water that is considered one of the best European beaches. We cannot forget either the natural beach of Son Serra de Marina.

Can Picafort is an important touristic township with lots of interesting places to visit such as shops, restaurants, pubs, discos and a taxi and bus service.

Close up there is S’Alburefa de Mallorca which is the most wetland area in the Balearics, it is a former lagoon separated from the sea by a belt of dunes. This Natural Park affords protection to some 1708 hectares of marshes and dunes. It is important to note the wealth of fish with an amount of 29 species and the wide variety of fungi (66). However, the most appreciated groups are the birds, with 271 different species, the mostly migrants.

Santa Margarita, due to its location, it is easy to visit the surroundings. From Son Bia, we could find paths and routs with flats and large landscapes that make the walker feel in contact with nature. It is ideal to stroll or making excursions on food or bike; now that, the north is well known by cyclists.
