The villa was as good as it looked on line, better in fact. it was clean, with just about everything we needed for our stay! the tea, coffee, sugar, delicious smoked ham, eggs and bread were also a thoughtful touch, that, after a journey made it a very welcoming arrival. everything worked in the villa and the pool was clean. we shall be recommending not just Gozo, but Baron groups holiday homes too. the people of Gozo were just a delight, friendly and welcoming, cheerful and humourous. an added bonus that they spoke perfect English making it really easy. the local shop was like a tardis, so small, but whatever you asked for they would find it in no time. we walked into Victoria on three mornings, such a pleasant stroll, the citadel a perfect backdrop to a mixture of old an modern shops. 100 yards from our villa in sennat was the restaurant 'il girna' where the food was lovely, but the 5 star hotel 'ta cenq' was a gasronomic delight, and at 30 euro's for a 4 course meal, an absolute must, eat your heart out jamie oliver, the service was more than equal to the food. in Victoria, we got caught in a shower so hit the nearest eaterie, a mistake but still just about edible, something 'on the square' it was called, no atmosphere and not much taste!! as a warning to others, a bit of rain can make the tiled surfaces very slippery, my partner has the bruises to prove it! this did not detract from an overall, wonderful experience, only complaint was the mosquito population, they wear there pants on the outside and are in stealth mode the whole time so good repellant is a must. we only spent 400 euro's the whole week, eating out three evenings and the obligatory mcdonalds twice to keep the lad happy. i reckon on a budget, you could survive comfortably on 100!!
