Andorra has the largest skiable area in the Pyrenees. The Pal-Arinsal sector is the ideal resort for family skiing, with a skiable area of 707 hectares under snow with a capacity for 34,100 skiers/hour, with 28 ski lifts, 371 artificial snow cannons and 160 monitors. Its FIS stadium is one of the biggest in Southern Europe, and the latest trends in skiing and snow-boarding are practised in its freestyle and free ride areas (with an area of 40,000 m2 and chill out included). It also has a Carving Area, two bumps areas and a slalom area.
In addition to skiing and snow-boarding, there is also a wide range of snow-related activities, like snow-shoeing, ski bikes, dog-sleds, and snow bikes.
The village of Arinsal is like a picture postcard, the flat is near to all the facilities you would need to have an extremely enjoyable holiday. There are many restaurants, bars, cafes and supermarkets right on your doorstep. The Surf restaurant which is famous for its fantastics steaks and meat cooked on their indoor bbq is a must to try. Many of the bars have DJ's and the apres ski is just what you need at the end of a long day on the slopes. The village of Arinsal is also a fantastic place for families to ski together, lots of facilities for children, such as ski school and baby clubs for the younger members of your family. The restaurants cater very well for children and families. So whether you want a calm relaxing skiing holiday or something a bit more lively Arinsal will not disappoint.
There is also a local bus that will take you to the Capital Andorra La Vella where you can discover lots of duty free shops, clothing shops ideal to buy yourself a new ski jacket or even a snow board. There are lots of bars and restaurants on offer in the Capital and the bus journey from the apartment only takes 20mins. So if you fancy a day away from the slopes you have lots of choice
There are also many festivals that take place throughout the year, The Big Snow Festival for all you music lovers, mountain bike competitions, horse riding and fishing.
Ski: Vallnord (Ordino-Arcalís and Pal-Arinsal Mountain Park) and Grandvalira (Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig and Soldeu-El Tarter), the two Alpine ski resorts have a total of 3,075 hectares of skiing area, -282 kilometres of pistes, 106 ski lifts, and 1,417 artificial snow cannons.
Arinsal offers excellent skiing and snowboarding for beginners, and a good selection of runs for intermediates. The fact that Arinsal is part of Vallnord means that Arcalis and Pal are included with a single lift pass, offering a fantastic variety of runs, as well as some great places to cut off the pistes, if you need something a little more challenging.
