Très bon appartement. On était comme chez nous, avec tout ce qu'il faut pour y vivre (télé, pc portable avec wifi, jeux, livres, etc.). Bref super bien équipé.
A noter l'excellente propreté.
7 stars :)
House very clean, comfortable, typical, with all necessary in order to feel a Londoner pure ingredients. Supermarket 5 minutes, 5 minutes to metro, availability of Oyster Cards (subway passes), computer, mobile phone, Maggie inclusive welcomes guests with fruit, some food and drink.
Tower Bridge, London Tower, City Hall, near the house and rest of the places in the city 20 minutes away by metro.
I, Bea, Monica and John were pleasantly surprised with so much on offer.
Back when visiting London, will stay again in BM.
Kisses to Maggie.
My wife and I stayed at Bowmansmews for 5 nights in May 2014. This was one of the best apartments we have rented, anywhere.
- it's located in downtown London, walking distance (10 min tops) to the Tower of London.
- Similar walk to a big Waitrose grocery store.
- Very short walk to a couple of very good Indian restaurants and a short walk East Aldgate tube or Tower Hill tube stations and the DLR.
- The apartment is well furnished and comes with a full kitchen including a dishwasher and soap for it. It also has a washer/dryer combo including soap.
- There are a number of guide books and maps for your use.
- There is a balcony, over looking a nice garden (personal favorite).
- The apartment is on a Mews, so it is very quiet. There is restricted access to the grounds as well.
- The apartment comes with Oyster cards which are used for London transport. The Oyster cards have 2 benefits, obviously the speed at getting into the tube, but not so obviously, it is significantly cheaper to use the cards. You have to charge the card(s) with funds at a tube station, but you don't have to buy the cards as you are simply borrowing them from Maggie. There is also a cell phone you can use, a laptop and wifi.
- The owner, Maggie, is a wealth of information and exceptionally helpful.
- Finally a bottle wine, bowl of fruit, coffee, sugar, milk and other grocery items were there for us when we arrived.
- There are 2 flights of stairs to get to the apartment. There is no elevator so if you are handicapped this could be an issue.
- No Ugly's
Thank you very much Maggie, thanks to you our stay in London was awesome !
Our family of 2 adults and 3 children (6, 10, 15) fit nicely into Maggie and Kiwi's apartment, located perfectly for our Olympic adventure. Short walk to Aldgate East Underground makes for easy transportation anywhere in London. You won't even need the tube to go to Tower Bridge, Leadenhall Market, St. Paul's, Spitalfield's, and other prime sites. They're all within reasonable walking distance, as are a small Tesco market and larger Waitrose for your grocery shopping.
Kiwi was waiting cheerily for us as we arrived ragged from a 10-hour flight, giving us the rundown on neighborhood, keys, appliances, etc. Apartment's laptop and mobile phone come in very handy! Maggie and Kiwi will keep you stocked with towels. Shower is great. Bedroom is very, very comfortable. Sofa beds provide a good night's sleep also. Our family had such a wonderful stay in London, almost three weeks, and this apartment was a big reason why.
This very well equipped apartment, in a quiet mews is amazingly will situated for visiting London, both by foot and public transport - boat, bus underground and the new Docklands Light Railway. It even has games and an excellent selection of books about London. There is nothing missing in the kitchen for preparing a gourmet meal although of course there is an unlimited selection of eateries within walking distance. A pre-ordered taxi (via internet) from Heathrow can be about £50. We were very warmly received by Kiwi who was available for any queries during our stay. A mobile phone, travel cards, lap-top and printer were available.
Awaking to the singing of the birds in the mews garden was an unexpected delight as was sitting watching the fish in the lilly pond.
I do not hesitate in recommending this property. Even the concierge was most helpful when I accidentally left my phone in the apartment after we checked out.
We enjoyed walking over Tower Bridge to the restaurants on the south side.
The Borough Market and renewed Globe Theatre are enjoyable destinations as well as the Tate Modern Gallery, just to give a taste of the possible excursions. We also enjoyed a visit to Greenwich via the Docklands Light Railway.
We had very favourable weather whilst we were in London but the easy accessibility of this apartment makes it a perfect place for all year round.
Ideally situated just 5 minutes walk from: Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, the Thames and St Katharine Docks; The Gherkin and the Financial District; Vibrant Brick Lane and Petticoat Lane; A cosmopolitan selection of restaurants and pubs; Large Waitrose supermarket plus smaller Sainsbury and Tesco; London Underground Tower Hill, Aldgate and Aldgate East stations. Situated inside a tranquil, gated square with a communal garden and pond.
