tranquility, peace and space
Our family stayed at Le Belvédère for a couple of days and it is the perfect location from which to explore the magical Dordogne area. It is set against a hill, overlooking the breathtaking Dordogne River and Trémolat village...and is amidst natural vegetation and woodlands. The house itself combines tranquility, privacy and style. It is tastefully decorated and can easily accommodate two families or a lovely group of friends. Our meals were all equally memorable - in the front of the house overlooking the Dordogne river, down in the village which has incredible little restaurants, as well as sundowners above the house, "where you can see forever!" We have such wonderful, lasting memories of an unforgettable holiday and will most definitely be returning!
We had a wonderful holiday in Le Belvedere this year. We were having a family celebration with our grown up children, partners and grandchildren and all agree it was probably our best holiday ever. The house and setting is absolutely wonderful, the accommodation clean and comfortable and the views were stunning. Such a lovely place to spend time with family and friends. The village of Tremolat, with it's retaurants - from the fabulous pizzeria to the upmarket Vieux Logis - is just a short walk away, although not so easy coming back! The house is situated on a rather steep hill which is why the views are so amazing, but it is well worth the effort. We would certainly recommend the house for a family holiday, the accommodation is very well suited to a large group with everyone having their own space to retreat to and it has a lovely homely feel. It is obviously a well loved house and we look forward to going back someday. Thank you Shari and Jonathan, we have such lovely memories of our time in Le Belvedere.
A real French farm house with charm and a gorgeous view. Wonderfully peaceful family holiday. Can't wait to return.
We have just returned from a fantastic fortnight in Tremolat. The house is amazing. Four separate parts: the barn, the house, the cottage and the studio (converted stables.) This was perfect for a group of adults and teenagers who could all have their own independence, yet be together when they wanted, to eat outside, round the pool or whatever. The barn was a fantastic conversion with a mezzanine bedroom with bath and loo. The living area was the height of the whole building and perfect for playing games together in the evening. The farmhouse had a bedroom upstairs which became very hot when the temp reached 34' so all 4 of the girls slept downstairs which they loved. The cottage in the garden was perfect for my parents and the boys loved the studio. Each part had its own front door and key so I'm not sure how a family with young children would manage. They'd probably have to have adults and children together.
A cleaner was available but as we had 6 teenagers with us we got them to earn their keep and do the cleaning! The village and nearby towns are all lovely and there is lots to do, particularly in the summer. The weather was excellent, we even had an amazing storm one night which was louder and brighter than anything any of us had experienced. While we drove down to Tremolat, some of the group flew into Bergerac which was a super little airport and only 35 minutes away. The owner, the neighbour who keeps the key and the cleaner who came to introduce herself were all totally charming and couldn't do enough for us. I can't recommend this house enough. It was a totally private home unlike some of the character-less places we have rented in the past.It is within easy access of the village and some lovely neighbouring towns. We had a ball and I hope we'll go back in the not too distant future.
