Quiet Location

We enjoyed a comfortable 3 week stay during the summer of 09. It was a typically hot spanish summer and so the air conditioning was a great benefit as was the close location of the pool, which was easily visable from the patio for keeping an eye on the children.
The layout of the villa was good Another great benefit to this villa is that all the bedrooms are ensuite and so giving plenty of room for everyone.
The Mercadona in Fuente was excellent and you could buy everything you might need, however you do need a car to get there and to get around generally, including the golf club bar and restaurant on site.
You do need to be adventurous to explore the region, but we found Cartegena a fabulous town with a Roman Theatre ruin well worth a visit and the local boat trips were fun. Also the local beach to this town, Cortina Beach, was small and safe with a great bar and restaurant. We visited beaches at mazzeron and Aquila. Mercia is worth a visit to do some shopping and see the lovely cathedral The food at golf club house resturaunt was good although we did have some poor spanish service one night. The local golf is good with some nice facilities but its not cheap to play. There is a lovely fish and tapas restaurant next to the church in Fuente it is only open friday and saturday the propriertors dont speak any English they just bring the fresh fish out on a tray and you pick the fish you want cooking the food was excellent The location is suitable for a quiet relaxing holiday or if like us you're adventurous its great to explore the local area Allen the villa owner was helpfull and efficient our only complaint was the cleaning charge at the end of the holiday which we felt was not made clear at the time of booking but im sure allen will correct this. We enjoyed our holiday and would reccomend a holiday here.

Owner's Response: We take on board the minor complaint at the end of this otherwise very favourable review. The cost of cleaning and laundry appears to be an issue with some guests. However, clearly the villa and linen have to be cleaned between tenancies and we give tenants the option of doing this themselves or paying to have it done professionally if more convenient etc. Unfortunately we have no control over the prices charged for these services by the various companies operating on the resort, including our managing agent. Prior to setting our prices for next season, we will look into the question of including these charges in the rent, but inevitably that would mean increasing the rent, thereby penalising those tenants who prefer to do the cleaning themselves.
