Sunburst is a newly constructed villa which has been tastefully furnished to a very high standard. It sits on a high coral cliff near the beautiful Bottom Bay beach on the south east coast of Barbados. The villa has 2 double en-suite ocean view bedrooms, 1 en-suite twin bedroom and an additional downstairs bathroom. The well equipped kitchen has beautiful granite worktops and contains integrated appliances such as the fridge/freezer, wine cooler, dishwasher, cooker and hob. A coffee maker, toaster and other small appliances have been added for your convenience and the cupboards are well stocked with pots, pans, plates and drink wear. The spacious living area can easily seat 8 people and benefits from DVD and HD TV with Multi Choice option which can also be viewed in all the bedrooms, all with surround sound. This area overlooks the patio and pool. Beyond that the glorious blues of the ocean can be seen. The villa is surrounded by a lovely garden in which to relax in private.

A baby sitting service is available from a UK Registered childminder. (Cost to be paid locally)

Car hire: We would strongly recommend a car rental for the duration of your stay. This can be arranged for you prior to your arrival in Barbados or locally. (Charges will vary). We feel it is important to inform prospective guests that Sunburst Villa is unsuitable for those who wish to be within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants.

In 1998 a friend was kind enough to pay for me to visit Barbados (eternal thanks to that friend). I remember standing on the beach looking out to sea mesmerised by the turquoise blue ocean in front of me. In that moment I made the ridiculous statement that I would love to own a house on that island. I’m not sure if it was the deep blue sky, the twinkling crystal blue water, the bright and beautiful tropical plants and flowers or the sun that had bewitched me but there was something beyond my control that made me feel that way. If you could have known my financial status at that time you would have laughed at my optimistic outburst and put it down to the heady intoxication induced by the affliction often known as ‘That holidays feeling!’
We could see a very elegant hotel on that beach and laughed as we joked that we would return there and take the best ocean front room they had for my 40th Birthday knowing that it was most unlikely…but we could dream.
In 2004 we returned to Barbados to celebrate that very occasion in that ocean view room at The Turtle Beach resort. I felt a very lucky girl.
During that stay one of the hotel staff, called Nigel, had shown us a brochure of a development planned for an area of the South East coast near to the stunningly beautiful and much photographed Bottom Bay. He told us that the houses had 2 or 3 bedrooms and some even had a pool. We admired the brochure and looked at the prices knowing, but not wanting to admit, that they were beautiful but unfortunately, out of our reach financially. With hours to spare before the plane was due to carry us back to the UK Nigel had contacted the builder and had arranged a cab to take us up there and not wanting to appear ungrateful, we went to see the sight.

The best house was undoubtedly Lot 20 but that had already been sold and knowing that we couldn’t afford it anyway softened the blow but we did start to wonder if we could afford one of the smaller town houses on the development.
In February 2005 we returned to Barbados and during our stay had a serious look around the island at the various properties for sale. I was totally amazed that we could find anything at all within our budget as I always presumed that only millionaires would be able to afford a home there and we realised the homes on the development land we had previously seen (Atlantic Rising) represented excellent value for money.
I won’t bore you with the details but after that trip we decided to purchase a house on that very development. We had, as a family, accumulated a bit more money and asked to buy Lot 16 which we considered to be the nicest of the ones still available. By some ridiculous fluke the plot we wanted (No 20) was back on the market and after sending a deposit we were assured it was reserved for us. There was much yelping, dancing, clapping etc in our lounge in York that day.
The location of Sunburst is tranquil and the view through the lounge doors on a sunny day is priceless.

Call me biased, but for me, Sunburst is special. Hopefully all our guests including those who return year after year would agree.
Situated east of the windward isles Barbados is a relatively small coral stone island. Being approximately 26 miles long by 14 miles wide makes everything the island have to offer easily accessible. Sunburst is located on the south eastern coat of the island and is a short stroll from the breathtaking Bottom Bay beach, said by some to be one of the most picturesque beaches in the world. There are several other stunning beaches and bays within the immediate area including the famous beaches at The Crane and Sam Lords Castle. The airport is situated approximately 15 minutes away and the capital, Bridgetown, around 30 minutes from Sunburst.
Barbados can be any type of holiday you choose. It can be leisurely and relaxing or adventurous and exciting. Nature lovers will admire the natural beauty on the island whilst food and drink connoisseurs have the option of dinning at some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean. Sunburst is a lovingly crafted home which will appeal to all.
