Summer Holiday August 2011

I would like to start by saying this was one of the best holidays we have had.
Owner: Very helpful all the way through the process, kept in contact and always responded to my e-mails very quickly.
Apartment: We could not have asked for more, clean, spacious, everything we needed. The most stunning view overlooking the pool and sea, we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony at night enjoying a glass of wine and listening to the sound of the waves. It had sun beds for us to use each day, this was the part i really enjoyed - not having to get up at 6.00am to reserve some beds.
Complex: Again this was faultless, very clean, 2 seperate pool areas both with good size pools and niether of them was very busy and the pool was very warm. A friendly family restaurant with good food and drinks all day and occassional entertainment. The beach was just down some stairs from the restaurant. Across the road was a selection of Restaurants, our favourite was the pizza restaurant where we had a few meals, good price and good food. Also a supermarket which we found to be very reasonable (the one in the mall down the escalator), although if you do a bulk shop best to get a taxi back (only 6 euro) but it is a 5 to 10 min walk. We found all the other guests to be very friendly and helpful. Overall this was a very relaxing holiday, there is plenty to do in the neighbouring resorts if you want it, but we came home and felt like we had a holiday. We are going back next year.

Fantastic view and location.

We stayed at this property for five weeks. We absolutely loved the location. The view is fabulous. As we are from western Canada the weather was amazing for us even in winter.
The apartment was as described. It has simple furnishings and provides everything necessary. The glassed in balcony was the clincher for us during the winter time.
The apartment was well maintained. The resort is very well kept. The groundskeepers worked constantly to keep it looking great and in good shape. The resort manager was very helpful. She provided good service and excellent advice.
Craig provided good service. As this was the first time we rented an apartment, especially overseas, he was very helpful in providing tips on how to arrive at the property from Malaga as well as the basics of using a vacation property. This was very helpful.
The Garden Bar is only a few steps away and provides english-syle meals. The tables on the lawn overlooking the sea were busy even in winter. The tables were packed when live entertainment was provided on several Sundays.
We were able to easily travel to other centers from this location. We drove to nearby towns as well as Gibraltar, Granada, the White Villages, etc.
We spent many hours walking the beach. We could observe from there, as well as the balcony, the fishing boats, large ships, Gibraltar, Africa, the rocks, sand and waves.
We loved our time at this property and would recommend it to others. We hope to be able to return.

We were looking for an independent holiday, with some local support and some insider knowledge. The appartment location and the owner's professionalism made this beachfront Rocas del Mar Apartment the perfect choice. From quick and efficient booking arrangments to onsite restaurant and local information sent before we departed we were well set up to spend the rest of our holiday relaxing and exploring.
The appartment was very clean, perfectly equipped and well laid out, with a great view out to sea and up and down the coast. The pool was quiet and the we enjoyed the afternoon sun as the kids enjoyed the water.
This is a lovely part of Spain and we made the most of the mountains and the coast. Lots of lovely villages to visit, markets and restaurants. The weather was great for Oct and glad we only had a 3 hour flight from Edin to find some "winter" sun. We hired a car at Malaga airport and although not really required as a regular bus service runs by the appartments, it was just as affordable as 2 taxis to and from the airport. There were 2 supermarkets in Riviera Del Sol and restaurants, our favourite was Mamma Nostras all only a short walk. Everyone we met were very helpful and even let us try out our Spanish which the kids loved. We had lunch everyday at the Garden Bar where the staff were very very helpful and we used the free wifi which was fantastic to check out other local things going on.
We would definately go back to this appartment again and would recommend it to anyone looking for an independent break away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger resorts.

What a view

What a fabulous location, rocky beach with trees at the water's edge. Good travel directions provided by the owner and good car parking facilities. The apartment was spacious and although only two of us, would have been plenty big enough for a family of four. Very nice bathroom with constant hot water. The kitchen was small but adequate for a holiday stay. Everywhere was clean and tidy and set in beautiful gardens which were well tended.
The complex had more of a residential feel than just holiday apartments which was nice.
Although located on a very busy road, access to the secure car park was easy and once inside the apartment, due to the double glazing, the traffic could not be heard, I would definitely recommend hiring a car,

Air Con Misrepresentation

My wife and I prepaid to stay in this apartment for 5 nights in mid September. The owner's advertisement read "it has air conditioning". We realised as soon as we entered the apartment that there was air conditioning in the lounge only. It did not have any air conditioning in either of the two bedrooms. We refused to stay even one night in the apartment and left within minutes of our arrival, i.e., our date of leaving was the same as our date of arrival. Luckily, after trying several letting agents, we managed to find another apartment nearby that did have air con in the bedrooms and we stayed there for the 5 nights. I would not recommend this apartment for a stay of any duration during the summer months for anyone who needs air conditioning to get a good nights sleep.

Owner's Response: This guest apparently only stayed in the apartment for more than a few minutes therefore they did not even switch on the air con system and test it out for comfort. If they had they would have been pleasantly surprised because it is a new and very powerful system which was designed to cool both bedrooms and the lounge to the required temperature. We opted for one unit rather than three separate as the engineer assured us one larger sized unit in lounge would comfortably deal with the bedrooms in the apartment with the doors left open. I explained all this to the guest over the phone when he called me but he had already booked into alternative accomodation.

My wife and I have stayed several times since the aircon system was fitted in June this year and we are very impressed with it.

Also, my advert is not misleading. It clearly states under the section -Interior facilities in apartment" that the apartment is "Air conditioned in lounge".

We have had many guests in July and August and no one has complained about the aircon system. Please read the other reviews posted and ignore this review.
