Morada do Sol is a large, enclosed property, in a rural setting near Cascais, 3km from Guincho beach. It is only 4km to the motorway, making Lisbon accessible in less than 30 minutes. Cascais and Sintra are just 10 minutes away.

With a large swimming pool and beautiful grounds in a 5000m2 estate, close to the beach and the many attractions of Cascais, Lisbon and Sintra, Morada do Sol offers an ideal setting for a perfect holiday: peace and privacy amongst the beauty and tranquility of nature but with all you might want close by. There is ample secure parking inside the property. Within the large private grounds you will find a ball games area, swings, sauna, many secluded corners and peaceful rural and sea views.

Morada do Sol has two villas in its grounds which can be let as 4 independent units. All units have their own separate access, living room, kitchen and outside space.

Carbon-neutral holidays: Morada do Sol is committed to preserving the beautiful Sintra- Cascais National Park in which it is located: a tree is planted for every booking through the Oxigénio initiative run by the local municipality. Guests receive a certificate dedicated to the person of their choice; during their stay they can visit the plantation area and get involved with the initiative if they wish. This is the perfect way to offset carbon emissions during the holiday, and feel you are contributing to a greener future.

The large, covered pool means the water is warm enough for you to swim from April to November although you are free to use it all year round; sliding doors allow you to catch a cooling breeze in the summer months. The extensive and well-kept gardens with their grand pine tree drive and many areas and spaces of different character have wonderful displays of colour for most of the year and the mature palm trees provide delightful summer shade. Help yourself to fresh tomatoes, lettuces, apples, pears, lemons, oranges, figs and pomegranates from the orchard and vegetable garden, all biologically produced.

All units in the estate are well maintained and comfortable. The relaxed 'rural chic' atmosphere provides the ideal setting to recharge your batteries and enjoy the simpler pleasures of life.

This spacious villa is set on two floors which can also be rented separately (Villa Monte e Mar and Casa dos Meninos - see our website). The architecture is of Mediterranean influence, with the house following the contours of the landscape, curves not cubes, so the whole is at one with its setting. Most rooms connect to the outside. Staying at Villa Cascais is a memorable experience. The interesting architecture, the perfect harmony with the environment, the chic decoration all contribute to a truly relaxing time. Villa Cascais is the most spacious and luxurious villa in Morada do Sol. As the house is set on two spacious floors, there are two living rooms, two kitchens, two private patios and many wonderful relaxing spots with different views. The villa has 8 bedrooms in total and can be let to up to 18 people.

Perfect week end in mirada do sol !

we were a group of 17 friends so i had a big pressure ! but we found all that we need in this fantastic villa. We passed an excellent week, spending much time in this crazy garden in front of the swimming pool (hot! so nice). the outside area is excellent.
moreover all the rooms were confortable, the kitchen was very functional and the landscape with a the view on the ocean is nice nice nice !
we 've all enjoyed this moment and really shared good moments.
thanks to the proprietary which was very sympatic and permitted us to organize this trip in the best ways

For the second time an amazing experience!

I came for the second time to Morada do Sol with a group of 10 freelancers and entrepreneurs to work from this remote beautiful place. It was a great experience once again. The house and the whole property are beautiful and very unique. You can definitely trust the pictures. If you like the outdoors, this place is for you. From the property you can go on beautiful hiking tours with breathtaking views of the Atlantic coast.

Since we came to the Morada do Sol to also work from there, the internet connection was very important for us. The wifi worked fine even with 10 people connected and we could even use fast mobile routers that we were provided with. This is great if you want to use the beautiful garden as an outdoor work place.

In general you can 100% rely on the friendly, helpful and service-oriented Sol Domus team behind the property. They helped us with every question we had - from tips for restaurants and free time activities to the organization of appointments with the local entrepreneur organizations. Thanks again for the brilliant support! I am looking forward to come back in autumn 2014!

Amazing!

We had a really good time.The estate is very well maintained, the garden is beautiful and there is plenty of space giving it a relaxing yet welcoming ambiance. Indoors, the fireplace and air conditioning saved us from the temperate weather conditions. Not to mention the covered pool meant the water was never too cold, and we could use it both in the morning and evening! The surrounding town is charming and only 3km from the stunning Guincho beach. It is in the perfect location for exploring Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra, which meant we did a lot of sightseeing!

Will come again

This was our third time at Morada do Sol, and second visit this year. As ever, it was sheer bliss. We were a mixed group of 12 adults and children this summer and virtually lived in the pool when we weren’t at the beach or walking the cliff top paths from the village via Abano, or from Cabo da Rocha to Praia Grande and back with a delicious fish lunch at the restaurant on the beach at Adraga by way of reward. The children could tire themselves out on the hard court football pitch, whilst we relaxed over a BBQ on the terrace outside Casa Grande, enjoying the views, the tranquility and the rich pleasure of Portuguese wine. The twin cottages that make up Casa Grande are tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and well maintained. Since we were last there, they have been completely renovated and have six bedrooms and an extra bathroom with Jacuzzi. There was plenty of room for all and the extensive grounds of Morada do Sol are a delight.

We returned for a late autumn golfing holiday; passes to the top courses in the area arranged by Morada do Sol. This time we were just adults – seven couples – and took over Villa Monte e Mar and Meninos. The weather was mostly good, but the new air conditioning in heater mode took the chill off the evenings, and the live fire in the living room was a real attraction after dinner when we ate at home or had a nightcap or two after dining out in Cascais or the village. (Morada do Sol can be relied on for restaurant recommendations!). Confession: we were too idle to cook for ourselves and so took advantage of the maid’s home cooking; she has a range of dishes from which to select, delivered the next morning ready for the microwave! There is more space than at Casa Grande but either option would have worked well – the log fire was the decider.

The village of Malveira da Serra is less than five minutes walk away, with shops and good restaurants. It retains its traditional charm, and has long been sought after by wealthy Portuguese and international property owners due to the beauty of its setting, with the coast stretched out below, and the forest and mountain above. This is an ideal place for nature lovers, being in the Sintra-Cascais natural park where building is very restricted. There is good walking from the village, with an abundance of wild flowers, birds and animals. Guincho beach, world renowned for its surfing, is 3 km away. Sintra, a world heritage site with its castle, palaces and gardens set in lush vegetation and enjoying ravishing views is a lovely 15 minute drive across the mountain. The coastal resort of Cascais is 10 minutes away, where you will find superb beaches, restaurants, night-life and shopping, as well as a charming old town with rewarding site seeing. The centre of Lisbon is 30 minutes by car.

Golf: Six of Portugal’s best golf courses are within a fifteen minute drive, offering new and surprising landscapes, along with first class services and facilities. Portugal is a golfer’s paradise where it is possible to play almost every day of the year, with plenty to offer both beginners and advanced players. There are six courses within a 8 km (5 mile) range, with plenty to offer beginner and advanced players. Oitavos Golfe, Quinta da Marinha, Penha Longa, Estoril, Beloura and Estoril-sol are all first rate courses within a quarter of an hour. There are a further 11 courses within an hour’s drive.

Notes:
The main entrance is via a spacious entrance hall, with original pine trunks forming the ceiling. To the right, the main formal living room is found with a lovely encased fireplace providing the focal point, and 3 full length French doors opening to the gardens. A large TV with Satellite SKY channels, DVD player and Stereo is provided for the entertainment of guests. To the left the formal dining area is located; this area, with its own french doors opens out to the terrace and gardens. Right across the hall to the other side, there is a spacious fully equipped kitchen, with a large table for 8 or more, ideal for less formal meals. Just outside the kitchen, in a covered area, a large table made of one single slab of marble, seats up to 18 people comfortably and is ideal for large reunions. The lovely built-in barbecue is just next to this seating area. Also accessed from the main hall, we find a large twin bedroom (beds can be joined to form a large double) and its en-suite shower room; this bedroom leads to a smaller sitting-room/bedroom with 2 single sofa-beds and with direct access to the gardens and fabulous views. To the left of the main hall, we find a lovely indoor garden with a round skylight. Further on we access another twin bedroom with a large built-in desk, which means this can double up as a very spacious study room. Further along, past a separating door, we find to the left a pleasant double bedroom, and next to it a spacious shower room with an original skylight over the shower! The main double bedroom is to the right of this corridor. It is a spacious bright room with private French doors to its section of the garden, plenty of built-in storage space and a large bathroom with two sinks, jacuzzi bath, separate shower, toilet and bidet. Beds in this room can be configured as double beds, or 4 singles. Down steps from the hall, a separate living room, bathrooms and bedrooms are located. This area has a large sitting space with 2 single sofa-beds, fully equipped kitchenette and sliding doors to the garden. There 3 spacious bedrooms leading off from the living room: 2 twin bedrooms and 1 double bedroom. The double bedroom has a small en-suite bathroom and direct access to outside. The other spacious bathroom on this floor has a lovely hand painted tile panel over the bath.
