PRETTY, WELL APPOINTED COTTAGE IN CORNWALL

  • 4 out of 5
The Cornish Cottage is very pretty and well appointed. The kitchen is well equipped, there is a comfortable sitting room, and 3 very comfortable good sized bedrooms. The garden is lovely with outdoor seating to enjoy the evening sun. Wi fi is available. Slight criticisms are that the main bathroom is only accessible through the 3rd bedroom. Not an issue for us, but may be for some. There is another loo downstairs. Also there is not much hanging space for clothes. Again, not a problem for us, but worth noting.

The owner, who lives next door, is extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating, and always happy to offer ideas of where to go, what to do and see, and where to eat. I recommend the zip wire at adventure quarry, and the Seafood Kitchen at Hannafore, near Looe.

The location of the cottage is perfect for exploring the whole of east Cornwall, both north and south coast. We had a lovely few days there..

EXCELLENT BASE TO EXPLORE EASTERN CORNWALL

  • 5 out of 5
We stayed for a week at the cottage, a family of two parents with four kids. The house is exactly as described: enough space for six people, TV, computer, books, chess sets, nice bathrooms, new kitchen with everything in it (we even found pasta and toothpicks on the shelves), refrigerator, freezer, washer and drier, and so on.

Above all, there's a feeling that everything is in place, the house being embalmed in a nice, cosy atmosphere of home away from home.

The surroundings are a bit disappointing, the road to the property is rather treacherous and the bucolic landscape isn't necessarily visible from the doorsteps. On the plus side though, it is really quiet; you wake up in lamb bleating and bird chirping. There is a a sheep farm across the street and if you are lucky the shepherds might ask for your help when transferring the herd; if your children love animals, it's a special treat.

The owner is very friendly and discreet into the same time. Living nearby, he kindly offers assistance with whatever needs one might have. We didn't have to ask much, the house literally has everything and you feel at home in an instant.

There are plenty of activities and attractions both nearby and further away. In just one week one barely scratches the surface. The good part is that the cottage is endowed with a good collection of pamphlets and leaflets suggesting things that you don't get as easily from the internet if you're a first time visitor in Cornwall.

Recommended to anyone desiring to visit Eastern Cornwall and we'd gladly wish to return for another bite of Cornish quietude.

GOOD LOCATION FOR LINKS TO ALL AREAS OF CORNWALL

  • 4 out of 5
The approach to the cottage is not exactly picturesque and at first we thought we had the wrong location. However, that soon became insignificant.
Very pretty enclosed garden with a historical feature which touched our hearts.
It was lovely to be able to open the gate to a very quiet lane and not worry about traffic as we loaded the dogs into the car.
The cottage is quaint and a little smaller downstairs than we were expecting but this added to its charm. Very cosy!
The owner was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome!
If you are looking for comfortable accommodation with most mod cons then this is the one for you!

A NE PAS MANQUER !

  • 5 out of 5

"PERFECTLY RELAXING HOLIDAY"

"Perfectly Relaxing Holiday"
  • 5 out of 5
My wife and I (and our aging Jack Russell) had a wonderful 2 week stay in the Cornish Cottage.
Everything we were looking for - peaceful, relaxing and with plenty of home comforts, a really nice place to chill out.
An added bonus, was the variety of wildlife we enjoyed whilst staying at the cottage. Watching a vixen and her cub in the field next door, buzzards, barn owls, woodpeckers and even the occasional bat.
it's a great base to explore Cornwall, and the owner, Jason, was immensely helpful with his local knowledge and recommendations.
Many thanks

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SPACIOUS COTTAGE

  • 4 out of 5
We stayed for 3 nights as we wanted to visit the Eden project which was about 10 miles away. The place was comfortable, clean and had most things that one would need. We enjoyed the wooden fire place which was cosy and the peaceful surrounding. Jason was very friendly and welcoming and made sure we were comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place to someone who wanted to get away from it all and there are plenty of places to explore nearby. Just a couple of small things, the door handles for kitchen and lounge need attention, but that did not stop us from having a good time there. Thanks Jason and Lisa
