Sunny apartment in central Torremolinos - stunning views to the sea & mountains

Refurbished throughout and also fully re-wired, this sunny apartment boasts stunning views from its 17th storey position including mountain views to the right and town/sea views to the left. The lounge has a relaxing reclining armchair and comfortable sofa which converts easily into a double bed. New beds and mattresses are amongst many new items although some of the original Spanish furniture and flooring has been retained to keep the authenticity. The fully tiled bathroom boasts a new shower and vanity unit. A washing machine is provided. The new kitchen has all the utensils and equipment you will need and includes a portable oven and grill.

The mostly residential apartment block is 5 minutes from local shops bars and restaurants but is surprisingly quiet at night. For this reason, the apartment is suitable for the more mature guest or families with older children (because of the height) but not ideally suitable for groups of young people.

The apartment: The apartment is situated in one of the most unusual buildings in Torremolinos, if not the most unusual building. Tres Torres is as the name suggests Three Towers, and the complex was built in 1971 by Luis Alfonso Pagán. The design was influenced greatly by the Torres Blancas (White Towers) in Madrid. If you google these buildings, you will immediately be able to see the similarity between the two. Every floor is split into 5 apartments and because of the buildings unique 'round' design, each one is almost 'segment shaped'. Very different. There are 3 round lifts, round stairs, a round swimming and paddling pool, a round kitchen area (makes for very easy access to the cupboards and appliances) and before the refurbishment, the apartment even had a round bath!

Things to do and see: Torremolinos has a host of attractions and things to do to keep you entertained on your holiday. With more than 300 sunny days, this is an excellent part of the world to enjoy the many pastimes associated with the good weather - the beach, the pool, the water park, golf etc. But should you wish to see this part of Spain in more detail, there are numerous excursions available. There are trips to Cordoba, Granada and the famous Alhambra Palace, Gibraltar and the Barbary Macaques (not forgetting your purchase of cheap Duty Free goods), El Chorro lakes and mountains, Ronda and Nerja plus many other exciting places. Malaga town is worth a visit for both shopping and its historic value. The open top 'hop on hop off' tour bus is a great way to see the city The local Renfe train runs a very reliable and reasonably priced service between Fuengirola and Malaga giving you easy access to both destinations, not to mention all the other places on route. Local bus connections are also very good.

Shops, Bars and Restaurants: Torremolinos has all 3 in abundance! Almost any type of food you can imagine is available, and the restaurants range from cheap and cheerful to fine dining. Italian, French, Indian, German, English, Danish, Spanish, Moroccan, Chinese etc with many of the restaurants close to the apartment. There's even a Burger King and a 'chip shop' close by! Bars range from authentic Spanish Bodegas to large and lavish music bars with every style in between. There are bars to suit everyone. Why not have a drink at one of the many bars with outdoor seating and just watch the world go by?

Torremolinos has a very comprehensive range of shops. Local markets trade on different days in different places up and down the coast too. You're sure to enjoy taking time browsing as you stroll down Calle San Miguel. If you visit Malaga, take a trip down Calle Larios with its exciting shops and street entertainers. In December, the whole place comes alive in spectacular form with thousands of Christmas lights.

About Ginny

Hi there, my name is Ginny and I am the proud owner of this unusual property. I have only owned it for the last 5 years but before that it was the home on my beloved parents who moved out to Spain from England in 1984. Sadly my mum and dad have passed away so the apartment was left to me in their will. I thought about selling up but decided to keep the place on. After all, I have had such happy times there and in Torremolinos itself. Now my partner and I have many friends who live locally and having somewhere to stay if we fancy a visit is a very nice feeling.

The apartment was in need of an overhaul however so I spent much of my inheritance on refurbishment. This included starting with the basics by having the apartment completely rewired which included having a mains cable installed from the ground up 17 floors to the apartment and also fitting a brand new consumer unit. We continued by ripping out and replacing the old kitchen and bathroom units, and completely retiling the bathroom. We then bought new electrical equipment for the ‘new’ kitchen and bought new beds, dining table and chairs, a reclining armchair and a bed settee. The apartment was decorated throughout and new curtains were hung. We have kept the original floor tiles (which took some cleaning with all the dust created from the re-wiring I can tell you)! One day the tiles may be replaced but we love the original terracotta look which just seems to us so ‘Spanish’. Some of the original Spanish furniture also remains which again we think adds to the charm and character of the place.

We are very pleased with the results – and hope mum and dad would have been happy with our decisions too. If you choose this apartment for your stay, we hope you will love it as much as we do.

Super Place - and quite unique!

We had a lovely stay at this quite unique apartment. It's high (17th floor) so if you've got a thing about heights, it's probably not the best place for you to stay. For us, we loved to sit on the sunny balcony and check out the amazing views. Lovely to sit there on a balmy evening too - so peaceful. It's not far from town at all but really is quiet at night.

The apartment itself is bright and cheery and it seems that the owners have really thought through what their guests might need because it had everything we could possibly have wanted! We were new to the area so didn't know where the apartment was really. A 'meet n greet' service is offered though which literally means that you're met somewhere locally (in our case we got a taxi from the airport and were met outside the apartment block) and taken up to the apartment and gt shown what's what. It didn't take us long to get our bearings but this was a nice touch I must say.

As mentioned earlier, we weren't far away from the town area but we found some lovely places to eat and some great things to do. Obviously the Southern Spain sun is a huge bonus - we spent quite a few afternoons at the communal pool - which was surprisingly quiet despite this apartment being part of a 3 tower complex.

All in all we had a great stay in Torremolinos and would definitely stay at this apartment again.

Great Holiday!

My friend and I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Torremolinos and we had a great time! The apartment is clean and spacious with everything you could wish for and more; the owners have really thought of everything, making it a very relaxing and comfortable stay.
The surrounding area has something for everyone - the shops, bars, restaurants and beach are all within walking distance. Also, it's only a short taxi ride away to Benalmadina where there is a lively nightlife. Overall, whatever type of holiday you're wanting to have, this is the place to go! We'd definitely go back : )

Bright and Cheery. Lovely Apartment!

My partner and I stayed here in May. The apartment is very well equipped and comfortable. It seems apparent that the owners have gone to great lengths to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The views are pretty impressive too.

The communal pool has showers and toilets so you don't have to go all the way back to the apartment and although there isn't much grass around, there are fold away sunbeds in the apartment for you to carry down with you. There's a kids pool too and although we didn't use this, apart from my partner having a quick paddle, it's obviously great for families.

The apartment really isn't that far from 'the action' as it were but despite this it's not noisy at night. I've stayed in other Torremolinos apartments where ear plugs are a must. Here (unless you need them coz your other half snores), you should be able to sleep without them.

We didn't eat much indoors - too many nice restaurants to try - but we did have breakfasts there. The kitchen has everything could could need cooking wise though if you decide you want to stop in and watch a DVD one evening (quite a number are provided although not many suitable for kids so maybe take you own).

There's lots to see and do and a really good travel agency close by where you can book coach trips. Or if you want to stay in the resort, the beach isn't too far away. Take a walk down San Miguel street and follow your nose really. The beach is downhill but there's a lift to bring you back up if you don't fancy the steps uphill.

OK, to sum up, this is a lovely clean bright and comfortable apartment and unless you're scared of heights (coz it's high up), it really is a great place to stay and use as your base!!

Hope to stay there again one day!

My stay in Tres Torres.

I found the property to be very convenient for the town centre. The views from the terrace are spectacular. The apartment has everything provided that you could wish for and was very well furnished and maintained. There are lots of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance but if you want to take a stroll into the town centre this takes about five minutes.

Wir haben die Wohnung nicht in dem hier angepriesen Zustand vorgefunden. Der Fussboden war sehr schmutzig und staubig. Es gab Probleme mit Kanalisationsgeruch im Eingangs- und Küchenbereich sowie dem Badezimmer. Es wurden in den zwei Wochen unserers Aufenhaltes kein einziges Mal gesäubert. Nur einmal wurde die Bettwäsche gewechselt. Die Möbel sehen schon etwas abgewohnter aus, als auf den Bildern zu sehen ist. Der gesamte Wohnblock ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und steht teilweise leer. Wir würden die Wohnung nicht weiterempfehlen. Von uns gibt es nurt einen Stern für die schöne Aussicht.

Als Reaktion auf diese Kritik, erstens tut mir sehr leid, dass diese Person auf diese Weise fühlt. Ich habe zu meinem Hausmeister gesprochen, und als sie den Gast nahm an der Wohnung, sagt sie war alles in Ordnung und die Böden waren nicht schmutzig. Die Anzeige on-line, dass Bettwäsche wöchentlich wird (es gibt eine Waschmaschine zur Verfügung, wenn ein häufiger Wechsel erforderlich) geändert, aber eine Reinigung in der Wohnung wird nicht angeboten

Ich bin nicht einverstanden mit der Aussage, dass die Möbel ist schäbig! Der Sessel, Schlafsofa, Tisch und Stühle, Lattenroste und Matratzen waren alle neu vor 3 Jahren - seht selbst, auf die Fotos. Das Bad ist neu und so ist die Küche und alle Elemente drin. Ich habe einige der alten Möbel in die Wohnung 'Spanisch' zu halten, aber alles andere wurde neu gekauft gehalten! Die Wohnung wurde ebenfalls völlig neu verkabelt. Ich fühle mich tatsächlich ganz von dieser Kommentar beleidigt wie viel harte Arbeit und Kosten gingen in die Wohnung macht so angenehm wie möglich.

In Bezug auf den Geruch, ist es nicht ein Geruch nach Abwasser, und es ist nur gelegentlich. Es scheint zu kommen durch die Entlüftung in der Wand zwischen der Küche und dem Badezimmer. Die Dunstabzugshaube in der Küche wird der Geruch weg zu ziehen, wie das Fenster im Bad öffnen, und uns hat es noch nie ein Problem gewesen. Es gibt nichts zu tun mit dieser Wohnung direkt als Wasserleitungen ersetzt wurden, wenn die Wohnung renoviert wurde. Ja, das Appartementhaus ist ziemlich alt (gebaut in den frühen 70er Jahren), aber ist überhaupt nicht leer und die meisten Leute, die dort leben, sind Einwohner. Diese Wohnung wurde in meiner Familie seit 1983 gewesen, und ich bin sicher, wenn die Dinge so schlecht meine Eltern nicht wäre für fast 3 Jahrzehnten geblieben.
Wieder einmal war ich bedaure, dass diese Person auf diese Weise fühlt sich aber in unseren Augen ist dies immer noch eine extrem schöne Wohnung.

The apartment is in the ‘town’ part of Torremolinos and is a 5–10 minute walk to the centre of town where you will find plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs and an exciting assortment of shops. The beach is 15 minutes walk downhill - but could take longer if you stop at all the shops on the way! There are 2 public lifts that go to and from the beach however if you need them.

There are endless things to do within the town, or go only a little further afield to discover the rest of the area. Places you can walk to or get to via public transport include Benalmadena Marina, Malaga or Mijas, or there are numerous excursions available including Granada, Ronda, Gibraltar, Nerja and even Tangier to name but a few.

Also close by are an assortment of attractions including a water park, a crocodile park, an excellent zoo (in Fuengirola), Tivoli World (an amusement park) and Paloma Park. A number of golf courses can be found in the area, the nearest of which (Real Club de Campo de Malaga) is approximately 9 km away.
