It is on the top floor of an attractive, modern, four-story building with a marbled entrance and an elevator. There is plenty of on street parking right outside the building. The apartment includes a large entryway, a large living-dining room, and a well-equipped separate kitchen with laundry facilities. The exterior side of the apartment consists almost entirely of windows, so it is very light and sunny with views of green fields and part of the village. There is a large, brand new children's playground just up the street. The village has two restaurants, a pizzería, and several bars, one with a pool table. There is a bank with an ATM machine, and shops include a pharmacy, a fishmonger, a bakery, and two small supermarkets; a large supermarket and and a multitude shops, bars and restaurants are available nearby, in the beautiful, medieval town of Viveiro, 15 mins away.

The downstairs floor consists of a large entryway, a large living-dining room, a well-equipped separate kitchen with laundry facilities, a full bathroom (with both bathtub and shower) and a double bedroom with plenty of closet space. The upstairs floor includes two more bedrooms, each of which has two single beds and plenty of closet space, and another full bathroom, also with both tub and shower.

Full marks for flat, village could do better....

Very nice apartment, spacious and clean. There were only 2 of us, so we hardly ever went upstairs. I think it would be very suitable for a family, maybe not so great for toddlers because of the internal stairs. But access isn't a problem as there is a lift very close to the flat. The owner supplied very helpful local information before we went, and made the transfer of payment extremely easy (UK bank account). As we were there in the "winter season" apparently (early June), there was almost no one else in the whole block, and the tourist office - and anything else that might be a tourist attraction - were closed. Vicedo is quite a nice village and the beaches around are beautiful, but it could try to encourage a few more restaurants. No sea view from the apartment, but you do get to watch a lady try to tether 4 goats at the four corners of the field opposite every morning. She always manages it eventually, but the goats seem to enjoy a tug of war.

Very nice apartment. The photos do not do it justice. Apartment, building and town are immaculately clean. Good security for the building, street parking at no additional charge. Grocery shopping in village. The owner was very nice and made the entire transaction easy.

We would go again

The apartment in Vicedo is nice, it is clean well furnished and maintained. The village of Vicedo is a "interesting" place with it's mixture of modern and old ( some very) buildings. It is a very quite place, (wonderfull) more than 2 cars in a line constituted a traffic jam !, . The area is so peacefull, there are many beaches and coves to explore, the sea is so clear and un-poluted, and very safe to swim in. We took the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander, the drive to Vicedo, about 4/5 hours is quite busy with motorway construction traffic. The Spanish lady who looks after the apartment, Lolita is lovely and nothing is to much trouble for her.

There is a small tourist office in Vicedo, and the Lady who runs it is very helpfull and speaks good English.

Booking the apartment is hastle free

Lovely Apartment for Couples/Family

Lovely apartment in a modern block, a good size for 4 adults and well equipped. Only negatives were a squeaky double bed and the oven which had been left unleaned after spillage by a previous occupant.
Pleasant village in good overall location with friendly bars and good local tapas. Beaches quiet and clean and with impressive scenery.
We spent a week there without needing to go very far afield (eg less than 20 miles) to visit other towns & attractions (eg lighthouse at Bares), though if you are in this area it's an absolute must to visit Santiago de Compostela. It's 2 hours away and well worth a visit.

O Vicedo is a perfect place from which to explore the beautiful and unspoilt north-western coast of Spain, known for its fishing villages, scores of clean, sandy beaches, wild horses, and delicious seafood. Three sandy coves and two long beaches of white sand are within easy walking distance (5 - 15 mins). Spectacular views of the coastline can be seen from the lighthouses located at northernmost point of Spain, only 15 minutes away, and from walks along the cliff tops. Another wonderful place to walk is along the wooded banks of the River Sor, and miles of quiet country roads through fields and eucalyptus trees are ideal for walking or biking. Kayaks may be rented locally for use on the river, the bay, or the sea. The picturesque medieval town of Viveiro with its steep pedestrian streets has many amenities and is also a beautiful place to explore. Recommended longer day trips include the beautiful pilgrimage city of Santiago de Compostela and the Ribeira Sacra and Ribeiro wine regions

  • There is one full bathroom on each floor, each with a bath with shower. Both bathrooms are brand new and very nice. There is plenty of hot water. Towels and bath mats are provided.

  • One bedroom is downstairs (on the third floor of the building). This room has a double bed. One wall is all windows and there is a view of the village and fields. It has its own full bathroom. Ample hanging and storage space in double fitted wardrobe. The other two bedrooms are upstairs (on the fourth floor of the building) and share a full bathroom with bath, shower and bidet. They both have attractive pine ceilings, and one has a huge skylight window that opens. Both have fitted wardrobes with ample storage space. Both have twin beds which can easily be put together to form a large double bed, and there is double bed linen for this use. One is a very large room which is idea for children and could accommodate at least two more on air mattresses or something similar.

The kitchen is separate from the living room and is fully equipped, including new appliances - dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezer and oven with grill, vitro ceramic stove top and extractor fan. There is plenty of free parking available on the street below, and a brand new children's playground half a block away. The entrance way to the building is elegant and clean, and there is an elevator to reach the third floor. A woman from the village may be available to come and clean and / or do laundry upon request (extra cost). Free internet facilities are available in the public library, which is just around the corner.
