Beautiful villa set in its own 2.5 acres of land

Beautiful villa set in rural location in the outskirts of the Spanish village of Urcal. This villa was built in 2004 and has 6 bedrooms of which 3 are caves. The cave rooms keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The villa has its own private swimming pool and beautiful peaceful views. There is Spanish TV and Sky TV. There is a games room that features a full size pool table, darts and other board games. The villa has 3 bathrooms one of which is on suite, it is also fully furnished with new furniture in the bedrooms. The villa has a patio with a fly screen that accommodates 10 persons and sun loungers are available. The villa has private parking facilities. Come rest in the Villa of Casa Maria, kick of your shoes in the evening with a glass of wine and observe the odd eagle as it hovers past. The villa receives the sun all day. We provide a free meet and greet service by our management company to welcome you to the villa. Beaches are 25 min drive: Mojacar, San Juan.

The villa is situated 5 minutes rive from the village of Urcal. The village has two mini supermarkets where you can purchase all you require including fresh bread, fruit and vegetables. There are two bars in the village and a restaurant named the Palms. This restaurant opens at noon and serves all day late into the night. Hercal Overa is the main town 7 kilometres away - this town has Banks, a cinema, a zoo and an excellent market which is on every Monday. If you like seafood then travel to Garrucha and Mojacar 25 mins drive, Garrucha has great fish restaurants and is a beautiful spot. You can also go sea fishing for the day in Garrucha, details are supplied in the villa. There are an array of actiities to be enjoyed in Mojocar including various water sports, quad treks, a water park and go-karting, Mini Hollywood theme park nearby, and the castle at Lorca.

The local village of Urcal is traditionally Spanish. A very friendly area full of olive groves, almond and orange trees.

There are two bars, 2 supermarkets and one restaurant in the village. You may purchase all your fresh vegetables,food and wine. There are local fiestas and a historical church. Huercal Overa the town is 7 kilometres away. A prosperous town with shops, cinema, zoo and every Monday a local market. There is a new excellent hospital also an indoor fitness centre and outdoor pool. In Huercal Overa they have an internet cafe where you can enjoy a traditional English breakfast and browse the net. There are two beaches within 25 minutes drive; San Juan a traditional Spanish beach where the golden sand rolls out to the sea and Mojacar which is more commercialised where you can ride camels along the beach and the night-life is excellent with nightclubs and numerous restaurants.

Garroucha has fantastic marina and fresh seafood restaurants, also only 25 minutes from the villa

Golf: Courses at San Juan 30 minutes drive Desert Springs, Cortijo Grande, Valley De Est, Marina at Mojacar.

Casa Maria. Everything we needed!!!

We stopped at Casa Maria in June 2012 and what a lovely time we have had. There was 10 of us 6 adults and 4 children. The villa was beautiful, very spacious, the pool fantastic and the scenery breathtaking.
Please thank malcome for all his help with direction and support with anything we required. We have been back only a few weeks and have already booked for next year. I have already recommend this villa to family and friends as we had such a peaceful and tranquil holiday.

Just a quick note to say what a lovely, relaxing time we had on our holiday. The weather was exceptional. Everything was perfect - exceptionally clean, pool room kept us amused and lovely chats in front of the wood burning stove ended each day perfectly. All just as described on the web-site! Couldn't have asked for more. Say thanks to Malcolm for all his help and assistance too.

Already booked for our return visit in April 2013!

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH.....

I stopped at this beautiful villa in july with 9 friends and need to start by saying casa maria exceeded our expectations massively.
We first arrived at Almeria airport around midday and was greeted by 40 degree heat straight off the plane (bliss).After collecting our bags we were greeted by a friend of the owner called Malcom.Once we collected our cars we followed Malcom for about 30 mins straight to the front door of casa maria.The first thing that caught our attention was the rustic desert like surroundings and gorgeous scenery.
I originally was a bit dubious with there being 10 of us,but upon entering and walking into the massive kitchen and dining area i instantly realised there was more than enough space.The bedrooms were perfect and they were cool at night which is a massive bonus for us after sitting in the baking hot sun all day.
There is a little village local to the villa which we were able to have a meal in the local bar and buy shopping and drinks for the first day.We were told where the local town is and also where the beaches were by Malcom which was very helpful.We visited one beach called san jaun which was gorgeous and really looked after,they speak little english there so somebody who knows a little spanish is a bonus.We ordered a seafood paella for ten and couldn't believe how they accommodated us,this really was spanish living which we loved.
There is also another town called Mojacar we loved this place for the night life and huge beaches were we could find lots to do for the kids i.e. fishing,canoeing,golf and go karts etc and the restaurants there were amazing.
This part of spain really is how i imagined the laid back lifestyle of how the spanish live,just being round the pool all day was perfect a few drinks and a few dips and then a few more drinks was just what we needed.we had such a relaxing time and definitely didn't want to come back to our hectic lifestyles,so we booked again for next year and were all looking forward to it.

my family and i would like to thank you for our stay at the casa maria villa recentley, everything was perfect right from the start, malcolm your representitive greeted us and escorted us to the villa on the way he filled us in on everything we needed to know and informed us that if we needed to know anything or had any issues then he would be available to help

when we arrived at the villa i was impressed at the by the size and the clensiness of the place, inside it had everything you needed 6 bedrooms 3 bathrooms large lounge with sky tv and a large games room with a pool table were many hours were spent in the evening what more could you want

the pool outside was another great feature and throught the day was never empty we all spent many happy hours splashing away, the terrace was plenty big enought for family meals and bbqs and every night was a party night

around the villa the scenery was stunning, the evening walks were peaceful and the wildlife exceptional as the were on many occasions eagle hovering looking for there next meal

the local village was only a short distance away and you could visit the local market or go to the bar the "palms" for a meal and a drink and be made welcome by the owners

only a short drive away was the local town were you could get everything you could want from groceries to english papers to banks and not far from town was the beaches at st juan these were spacious and very clean

all in all this holiday was one of the best we have had, the villa was wonderful and the surrounding area simply stunning i have no problem at all recommending this place to anyone its got it all

Dear Mary & Liam,
We would just like to say 'thank you very much' for our stay at Casa Maria. We had such a lovely realxing time there. The break away that the family very much needed after such a terrible year. Our only wish is that we could of stayed longer.

The villa had everything that we needed. Unfortunatley it was too cold to use the well kept the pool , which was such a shame,although our 11 year old had a couple of splashes around, the woodburner proved to be a great hit with my husband who enjoyed cooking pizzas in it one evening, perfect! oh! and the smell of olive wood burning!

Our 15 year old was over the moon to have a pool table, darts board and the added bonus of satalite tv , something we haven't had in a holiday accommodation before, so he was kept amused!

We thought the cave rooms were great, there was a lovely feeling of space, it and it was equipped well for a self catering holiday.Everything was just spot on.

We loved the rusticness of the villa with the modern touches. The setting was absolutley stunning and so very peaceful. The view of endless olive and almond trees and cacti plants bearing large ripe fruits. Beautiful.

We so enjoyed going out for strolls and loved watching your neighbour set off in the morning to harvest almonds and return later with a bursting sack, he would then spend the rest of the day shelling them!

We discovered Emittas bar down in the village and enjoyed some amazing hearty and very cheap meals cooked by the very lovely and welcoming Maria. Her sirloin steaks cooked on an open fire are simply delicious!
We took trips to the coast, St Juan being our favourite as it isn't so touristy and has a pretty little sandy beach. And of course We went to all the local markets!

Malcolm , who met us and showed us the way( thank goodness! we would of never of found Casa Marias in a million years!)was great!
He was very helpful and accommodating. He reccommended places to eat, which beach to visit and even told us what days were suppose to be good weather wise!!! He made it clear to us not to hesitate to call him if we needed help with anything. A really nice guy.

What more can I say? Thank you so very much again! We hope to return to Casa Maria again one day soon!
