RIGHT ON THE BEACH IN MENTON, CLOSE TO THE OLD TOWN AND PORT, BEAUTIFUL VIEWS

Menton is a quiet, compact place where you can easily make your way about on foot. The Old Town is almost completely pedestrianised and is filled with nice little cafes and restaurants along its little streets where you can enjoy a nice coffee on a terrace. The restaurants within the Old Town and down to the Port are very good quality and are great value for money.

The town is heavily influenced by its proximity to the Italian border, evident in the architecture and on the local menus. Or, if you want to indulge in the full-on Italian experience during your stay, you can literally walk to Italy, it's that close!

If you visit Menton around February then you'll get to experience the Citrus Festival (Fete du Citron). It's a unique and extravagant display of colour and imagination and everyone is invited to the festivities.

Menton is also famous for it's beautiful gardens. The Jardin Serre de la Madone, the Jardin Botanique Exotique and the Fontana Rosa are open to the public and you can visit any day during the week. They grow a exotic trees, bright unusual flowers, tropical plants and edible plants such as bananas, kiwis and lemons.

There are also lovely beaches lining the coast of Menton from the Baia di Sole down to Garavan and they are all open to the public and far less crowded than other beaches along the French Riviera. You can take a nice long walk down along the beaches on the Promenade du Soleil which runs all the way from Italy to Roquebrune-Cap Martin.
