GREAT GOLF DEALS: La Cala give some great deals ranging from ‘play all week’ from just 223 Euros to playing a round on each of their 3 championship courses from just 174 Euros – prices vary depending on which months you play.

THE COURSES: The par 71 Campo Europa course opened in 2005 - fairways are generous and greens slightly larger, not severely contoured but well bunkered and easier for the average golfer. Campo America is a par 72 with five par 5s. Hilly topography requires ‘carry’ across steep brush-covered side slopes but wide and more joined fairways make this slightly easier for driving. There are fewer fairway bunkers but water hazards on the 9th and 16th. Campo Asia is spectacular and exciting with challenging holes guaranteeing a testing round of golf putting a premium on the approach shot. Water guards both greens at the 3rd and the 14th and tests golf course strategy. The 18th must not be over-clubbed off the tee or this lengthy par 5 could wreck your scorecard!

THE POOLS: There are two large swimming pools one of which is right by the front door of the Townhouse. It is only used by the few guests of nearby townhouses - sun loungers are provided. Beautiful well kept gardens surround the pools.

PARKING IS EASY with direct access from inside the townhouse to the garage in the basement where there is a reserved parking space. There is also ground level parking.

STUNNING VIEWS from the Townhouse over the Mediterranean Sea, nearby mountains and golf courses can be had because of its perfect position in the La Cala development.

COSTA DEL SOL AREA: 320 days a year of sunshine speaks for itself and means the Costa del Sol is the perfect all year round coast to visit with the virtual certainly of hot summers and warm winters. The area around La Cala Resort has everything you could want to make your holiday varied and interesting. The town of Marbella presents both the old and new faces of the Costa del Sol and is just a 20 minute drive along the coast road which has more fine beaches, restaurants, bars and great shopping. El Casco Antigo, Marbella's charming Old Town, is a warren of whitewashed streets with authentic tapas bars and is a vibrant place to visit day or night. And don’t miss Marbella’s famous Orange Square! Further afield you can easily reach the historic mountain towns of Rhonda and Granada or take a bit longer and go to Sevilla or Gibraltar or even across the Mediterranean to Tangiers. The quaint seaside fishing town of Nerja along the coast is another ‘must see’ as are Andalucia’s nearby scenic mountains.

Fantastic property, great location

Just returned from a fortnight in La Cala and can honestly say that this is the best property of it's kind that we have stayed in. The property is very spacious and feels bright and airy throughout. It is finished to a high standard and very well equipeed. The kitchen has everything that you would expect and more and the bathrooms are large and well finished. The pool is fantastic and our seven year old was hardly out of it. There is room in the basement garage for two small cars - it was nice to be able to get into the car without having to blast the air-conditioning for five minutes before you could get in! The view from the terrace is lovely with a combination of golf course and mountains, and it's lovely and quiet at night.

The golf courses look fantastic, although I would imagine that they would be challenging without a buggy for anyone who is even slightly unfit. I would advise paying the extra to the airline to take your own clubs though as club hire for one round costs more than the cost of taking your own.

Gardeners were tidying the grounds around the property regularly and the pool area was kept clean and tidy every day.

La Cala de Mijas itself is a lovely friendly little town with a great mix of locals and ex-pats who all seem to mix in together. There was a week long festival on whilst we were there which featured parades through the town, fishing competiotions, a huge funfair, music gigs and even a giant paella cooked on the beach. There are two supermarkets - Mercadona and SuperSol in the town. Mercadona in particular is very reasonably priced, especially for wine!

In terms of communication with the owner, i was very impressed. Whenever I e-mailed I received a very fast response which was always informative and polite.

There are lots of nice places to visit in the area which are reachable in your hire car (which you will need as the property is up in the mountains, although only 10 minutes from civilisation). We went as far as Granada to the East and Gibraltar to the West, the roads to which were quiet considering the time of year. A trip up to the town of Mijas is also recommended.

All in all, the property is fantastic and the location is great. We found the local town to be really nice, and cheaper than we expected.

This Townhouse is just 25 minutes from Malaga airport via the AP 7 motorway. Either take a taxi from outside Arrivals, hire a self-drive car or we can arrange a chauffeur service to whisk you to the townhouse. Airlines to Malaga include easyJet, Aer Lingus, Ryanair, Monarch, British Airways, Iberia, BMIbaby depending on your departure airport. Full directions are sent with all bookings.

Ski: Just an hour and a half from the Townhouse is the magnificent Sierra Nevada ski resort usually open from November to May. There are few places in the world where you can ski in the morning then head to the beach for the afternoon, but the proximity of Sierra Nevada to the Med allows this. Don't be fooled into thinking that the skiing will be second rate either. 20 lifts serve 100 km of piste and snowfall can be amongst the highest in Europe. The pistes lend themselves to the intermediate but there is ample off-piste skiing for the more advanced. For apres ski there are some good restaurants and lively bars. When you've had enough, simply head back to the sandy beaches of La Cala near the Townhouse!

This luxury townhouse is air-conditioned and has marble floors throughout, a large lounge/dining room with leather suite and dining table for 6 that leads out to a spacious patio for eating alfresco and sun bathing. The lounge is equipped with free Internet 24/7 upon request, a large flat screen TV with Satellite channels, a VGA cable for laptop to TV and an iPod/iPhone dock sound system . Bedrooms have twin beds that can be pushed together if required and all have en-suite bathrooms as well as large fitted wardrobe/cupboards. All bedrooms have TVs with Satellite channels. The kitchen is superbly equipped with fridge/freezer, oven/hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine and dryer etc. The gym, jacuzzi, sauna, indoor pool, tennis courts, games etc are available at the La Cala Clubhouse at extra cost.
