2 bedroom luxury villa retreat sleeps 4 plus cot

River Moon is a stunning two bedroom villa. Its spacious light filled rooms have a modern aesthetic with traditional accents such as the cooling alang alang roofs. Large windows and sliding doors open up to enable outdoor/indoor living. The bedrooms feature comfortable four-poster beds with European inner spring mattresses, pillows and goose down duvets. Each bedroom has its own en suite, one with an outdoor bath. For guests who enjoy cooking River Moon has a well-equipped kitchen. One of the highlights of River Moon is the spectacular rice field views to the north and a secluded private garden with a deck facing the river to the south. Plenty of comfortable areas both inside and outside make River Moon the ideal place to relax. River Moon is secluded and you can experience authentic Balinese village life, yet it is only 10 min drive from the restaurants, shopping and services of Bali's No. 2 tourist destination, Ubud. The holistic Pelangi School for children 18months+ is 5min drive.

The surroundings and gardens: One of the highlights of River Moon is its location. With superb rice field views it is situated in a small Balinese village. All the staff who work at River Moon and, indeed, constructed the house are from the neighbouring street.

Watch the beauty and transformation of the rice fields, go for a walk in village and see offerings being laid out, men sitting outside their family compounds patting their prized roosters and Balinese children playing in the streets. Or stay at home and enjoy the plentiful comfortable places both inside and outside to relax.

The area is rich in flora and fauna. Frogs, lizards, butterflies, herons and dragonflies are daily visitors. An extremely shy turtle and monitor live in the balé pond. Only the very quiet and patient are rewarded by appearances.

Desa Bulan : River Moon is part of the intimate Desa Bulan (Moon Village) enclave of six houses designed by Martje Nietzman and Erik van der Linden. Most of the houses are owner occupied. The superb 14m salt water swimming pool with its deck and pool side balé are shared facilities.

Notes: River Moon villa has a variety of places to sit and relax, whether it be in the balé or large day bed overlooking the rice fields, or the window seat or wooden deck facing the private gardens and the creek that runs through Desa Bulan. An evening turn-down service is part of the on-site services. River Moon has its own nanny, Kadek, who lives locally. Children adore her radiant, gentle and patient disposition and she speaks good English. She has 7 year old twin daughters and she is highly sought after by the Ubud expat community in Ubud. Should you be interested in hiring her please let us know. A car seat, cot, high chair, baby bath and potty are all available at River Moon. Please let us know if you require any of these.

Hello Kate,

- back on our desk in busy Shanghai - kindly note that we have tremendously enjoyed the
River moon Villa & Garden – the fantastic natural environment – no disturbance,

The pleasant and discrete team who made breakfast - turn down and the daily cleaning is great and very friendly.

We enjoyed also the recommended visiting Masseuse and Suriani to cook us a great Balinese dinner.

We sure will come back – hoping to find a vacant slot in the availability chart.

Yes, one of the great advantages of the villa is that it is close to Ubud and all its conveniences and yet located in a Balinese village. It's very peaceful here with sublime rice field views and is perfect for a getaway. As you say some sort of transport is definitely required. We were very warmly welcomed by Wayan all smile and such a warm and friendly person. Then he invited us into the house and we were simply overwhelmed.
A stunning place, so elegantly furnished, well equipped and intimate with a spectacular view of the sawahs, the enormous kites high up in the air, farmers taking care of the rice.
So much more than the already promising photos!
Our 3 children couldn't stop making the tour of the house: "Mom, dad, wait until you see the bathrooms! " Elegant, luxurious without being over the top and
everything functioning as if in Europe.
The swimming pool is at 30 meters, as beautiful, clean and well equipped as the villa.
The staff equals if not surpasses the quality of the house: simply the best we've had during our tour of 3 villas and 2 hotels! Preparing delicious small pancakes at breakfast
or taking care of the shut-down every evening at sunset, getting us a scooter and so on.
Wayan, Kadek and Made made us feel so welcome and special and they were really connecting, not just merely providing a service.
We wanted to keep it a secret: nobody should know about River Moon! It had become our special place.
But I owe it to the owners - Kate and her husband - who've managed to squeeze us in a week before arrival in Bali to share our experience.
Thank you Kate for helping us out and sharing your lovely house.

my husband and i were at the villa spet 18 to sept 31 , we only have one word WOW, the view ,the staff, the place is wonderful, we want to go back , the owner prepared everything for us , breakfast made by the staff in the morning , kadek,made,wayan were so nice and the food miam.
we hired Nyoman as our guide, Made for night time at Ubud downtown
for dinner , a bidder was done for all info around ans also a cell phone (prepaid) ans all contact, we want to go back but longuer this time
