The name of the house refers to the activities of the former owners of the house; gold washing. The house is well kept, renovated and meets the today’s standards.
The apartment house is situated in the Village of Bucheben. Bucheben is a quiet and relaxing village at the very beginning of National Park Hohe Tauern. Hiking and Loipe trails are starting from the house. The (ski-)bus is at 300 meters walking distance. You will have free access to our swimming pool and tennis court. We have a BBQ place with camp fire facilities. In de winter you have free access to the skating yard or can enjoy the sauna facilities.
The nearest town is Rauris. Town and (ski-)lifts are only 10 min by car. All apartments are fitted with a fireplace, cable-TV and if you like, internet access. Our house is particular suitable for larger groups. Only for those larger groups we will make our -otherwise closed- restaurant facilities available. We can provide for rolls and other fresh bread in the morning.
Winter: Rauris has a small but fine skiing arena.
It is ideal for children learning skiing or those, after a pause, who like to try it again. You will find track of all the three different colors. There are sufficient Off-Piste possibilities. Rauris has a high snow chance as it belongs to the same mountain massive as Zell am See and Gastein. These ski areas are easy to reach in 40 minites by car.
Direct from the Goldgrube’ doorstep you will find an entrance into the cross-country snow track. Different cross-country tracks are knotted together. Everybody can find a track to suit their likes.
In the Rauriser valley, there are many possibilities to make ski-tours.
Easy tours and of course “the tour” too the Hohe Sonnblick.
Snowshoe tracks becoming more popular. There are marked routes to chose but you can make toy own track as well
For those who like to go for just a nice walk without any equipment, there are well kept winter tracks.
Summer: In the summer you can enjoy the quietness, nature; you forget the daily rubble and trouble if you see the cows on “alm”, the variety of flowers, the small stream running the fantastic mountain panorama.

For a swim you can go to the Sonnblick swimming pool in Rauris or if you like to the Sellersee.
Unique is of course to learn and try gold washing. In the pat Rauris was famous to its Gold mining. Today there are various place where you can practice gold washing, even just right opposite our front door.
Thse you like to be active in their Holidays, you may like to have a look at the National Park Card. If you buy this Card you have free admittance to many lifts, panorama roads like the Grossglockner Strasse, swimming pools, museums and the like in the province Salzburg
about us: We are a Dutch coup[le. After some wanderings we landed in Rauris. We try to give our guest the holiday we would like to have.
We did not know the Rauris valley before buying the Goldgrube. We decided to have a two season house and in Rauris the opportunity was there to realize our goal.
We thought that we would have plenty time to ski and make tracks in the summer. Unfortunately, there is more work involved than estimate before. Anyway we did many track so we can advice our guest based on our own experience.
