APARTMENT IN A PICTURESQUE VILLAGE LOCATION NR THE SEASIDE SIDMOUTH

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Sidmouth - The Old Coach House

16th century character building with 2 apartments, Close to the beach

The Old Coach House is an immaculately presented, characterful property containing a 2 bedroom apartment sleeping up to 5 and a studio apartment sleeping 2. Both offer a Saturday changeover for peak week stays. It is ideally situated in the picturesque, peaceful village location of Sidbury while still being only a 5 minute drive to Sidmouth, the beach and esplanade. The recently refurbished apartments are part of a 16th Century Coach House and retains character features including timber beams and archways. The open plan lounge/ kitchen area offers a flat screen TV as well as free WiFi. The new kitchens have been equipped with a hob, cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. Bedlinen and towels are provided.

Sidbury: Sidbury is the perfect location to explore so many of the near by towns, villages and beaches. It is a 15 minute drive to Honiton, Seaton, Beer and Branscombe and 25 minutes to Lyme Regis. The beautiful, quaint, seaside town of Budleigh Salterton is just 25 minutes away as well. We have an excellent bus service, which runs frequently and until about 11.30pm from Sidmouth.

There are many beautiful walks and cycle paths around. We are happy to help with hiring of bicycles or a fishing boat, etc..

Within the area are wonderful places to eat also. Among others, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's River cottage is just 15mins away.

A couple of doors down from The Old Coach House is a 16th Century pub called the Red Lion, serving home cooked food and opposite is a speciality local butchers and convenience store.

We are here to make your stay with us as pleasurable as possible and look to you for feedback, in order to make future stays more enjoyable

Excellent accommodation in a picturesque village. Great location for country walks and a short trip to the sea side. We would definitely recommend this place and would stay again.

The Old Coach House Loft

My partner, my young son and I stayed in the Loft for 3 nights at the end of April. The apartment was really clean, comfortable (especially the beds!) and well-appointed. It's tastefully decorated, cosy and a real home from home. Sam and Lucy were very welcoming even though we arrived late at night, and made clear they were on hand for anything we could need, without being obtrusive.
Sidbury is a nice location for exploring the area, we spent time in Dartmoor, Torquay and Sidmouth and had a lovely weekend.
The apartment is up a couple of flights of stairs which may put some people off but we managed fine, even with a 3 year old in tow! It felt very private and we had our own entrance which was very useful e.g. for storing bikes.
A great find and will stay again if we visit the area.

Lovely stay!

  • 4 out of 5
I booked the Old Coach House Loft for a weekend gettaway for my boyfriend's birthday and wasn't disapointed. It's very comfortable and warm and filled with interesting bits of furniture. It's got character but with all the mod cons too. And we were surprised with a bottle of bubbly as a birthday gift which was a nice touch. I also had a wedding to attend at the nearby Sid Valley Country Hotel and the Old Coach House was in a perfect location for that. Having stayed in various villages in Devon over the last few years, I'd say the Old Coach House is among the nicest places I've stayed and the hosts were very welcoming. Would definitely stay there again!

Short break review for The Old Coach House Loft.

  • 5 out of 5
Beautifully decorated, warm and very cosy in the perfect location for day trips in the Devon area. We booked for a last minute Easter break and found the Old Coach House Loft perfect for our mini holiday. Everything was clean, fresh and maintained to the highest standard for our arrival. The extra touches were a lovely surprise and much appreciated. The kitchen was immaculate and well supplied with equipment for a normal family's needs. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable (definitely luxurious bedlinen) and the bathrooms gleaming with modern fixtures and fittings with a shower that worked - if you've ever stayed in holiday accommodation with a grim bathroom you'll appreciate the benefit of the bathrooms at the Loft. The service was faultless and the location ideal, close to Sidmouth for shopping, eating out and exploring the coastline. We're a family of 4 with a 14 and 10 year old, during our stay we visited Paignton Zoo, Exeter, Beer, Branscome and Lyme Regis - all within relatively close proximity with plenty to do for everyone. We liked it so much we extended our stay for an extra day. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and would visit again.

Lovely Loft Apartment

  • 5 out of 5
We had a great time in the apartment, it is spotlessly presented with everything you need and more. A welcome pack to greet you with nice goodies was a lovely touch. Very spacious bedrooms and nice comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen . The surrounding area is beautiful lots to see and do and would recommend this apartment to others. I would say thou if you do not do stairs easily then this is not the place for you carrying you luggage up a few flights of stairs if you are infirm may not be easy.. But then i do take everything but the kitchen sink away on holiday!!!. Hope to return in the future.

The Old Coach House is a charming, 16th Century coach house 2 miles from the Regency town of Sidmouth on the South Devon coast. Sidbury‚ with its lovely cottage frontages and gardens‚ is a haven of tranquil village charm. No wonder it has won the Best Kept Village competition so many times. The Loft has beautiful views over the village and surrounding countryside. Sidbury is also on the bus route and in an excellent position for exploring this beautiful area.

Sidmouth was a small fishing town that became a fashionable destination in the Regency period, and retains an unspoilt Regency seafront promenade and many interesting buildings from the period. The Jurassic Coast of East Devon is a World Heritage Site, with beautiful coves and cliffs and stunning coastal walks. Places to visit include, Bicton Park and Gardens, Crealy Adventure Park, Seaton Tramway, Powderham Castle, Beer Quarry Caves, great family beaches in Sidmouth, Beer, Seaton, Exmouth & Budleigh.
