Three bedroom modern mews house 15 min walk from City Centre and Railway Museum

Modern Three Bedroomed House situated in a Cul-de-Sac. Newly furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout. Close to National Railway Museum, Station, City Walls, Riverside and City Centre. Private off street parking and private secluded,sunny garden with table and chairs to relax after a day making the most of this beautiful City. One double bedroom, one twin (bunk beds) and one single bedroom.

It is a short walk in to the City either via the Railway Museum and along the Riverside, through Micklegate Bar or through the Railway Station. Close to a small Supermarket, various Restaurants and Bars and a local Cinema. WI-Fi is installed. Although the house is adjacent to the Railway it is in a quiet area (see Reviews).

Please note that this is a Family Home in a quiet area and not suitable for Stag or Hen Parties. Groups allowed by prior arrangement with the Owner. ****** See 'More Details' for important Rates information. ******

Pete's house in York is very comfortable and warm clean and well appointed with an enclosed rear garden. You can leave your car safely parked in front of the house while you go off and explore York crammed full of Roman & Viking History and all the styles of Architecture ever since. Restaurants and real ale pubs are everywhere. Plenty of night life. The York house is just the ticket if you are in the slightest bit interested in Railways ancient or modern as the upper floor overlooks the modern York Station and New Power Box with frequent visits by steam hauled specials, or a visit to The National Railway Museum if you are on foot just 15 mins walk from the house

The Retreat

We had a fantastic week staying at the Retreat. The house is well equiped for a family - a home away from home. The house was clean and comfortable. It is within easy walking distance of the city centre and its many attractions. I would recommend this accommodation.

We had a lovely short break staying in this house in York. Pete the owner couldn't have been more helpful with communications in the run up to our trip. The house was well furnished and just about a comfortable walking distance from the city centre for small people. Being so close to the railway museum was a real bonus.

Mid week break

This is a lovely house, close to the railway station and a short walk to the city centre. It is a very clean, comfortable and well maintained house. the kitchen diner is light and airy with a lovely view of the garden. There was a welcome tray which we made full use of whilst reading through the really interesting information folder provided. The house was really warm, and the beds were very comfortable. There were games and books to read once you came back from checking out the many attractions in York. We had a brilliant time and would recommend this house to everyone, I look forward to coming again in the summer.

Great location

We arrived by train and just walked across following Peter's directions. House was clean & comfortable and soon warmed up, even on a cold evening. Everything was just as described and the location was so convenient for shopping, sightseeing and dining out. A great long weekend - we'd certainly recommend this place.

Everything you could want

The house is within easy walking distance of the station and the city walls and proved an ideal base for me to meet up with two old schoolfriends for the weekend. It is incredibly well equipped and much more welcoming than a modern apartment aimed at the tourist market, so we felt very cosy and relaxed there. The overriding impression is that the owner has gone the extra mile to make sure his guests have everything they could need at their disposal, even binoculars and umbrellas! Highly recommended.
