Mrs Ujwal Desai
I am retired banker and my husband always wanted to have his own villa in Goa, which is our motherland. I grew up not very far from our villa in my childhood and I always had a vision of staying near beach, since I spent lot of my after school time on the beach with my dog and my school friends. We used to speak Portuguese up until the liberation of Goa, my father was a Portuguese school teacher. We used to catch small fish and cockles and mussels and my mum used to cook it for us, it was such a fun. Our house was across Mandovi river, a place called Betim and I studied in Panjim and always traveled by ferry. My love for Goa is very deep and whenever I visit Goa, the memories just mellow. My husband gifted this villa to me as a retirement present. What more can you ask? Of course we live thousands of miles away from India in cold country of which also I am fond of and proud. My children were born here and grew up here in England and we want to be near them, so we make sure we visit our villa once in a year and make a most of it.
