Villa May is a detached large villa built on a private hill with no through traffic and overlooks orange groves and a vast wetland and nature reserve. Oliva and its surroundings offers a huge variety of things to do and places to visit. Oliva has an excellent safe sandy beaches, patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months. Ten kilometres of the best Mediterranean beaches, divided into 6 separate areas. The dunes of Oliva, with a local fauna and flora of great beauty, delicately link the fertile orange groves, the Mediterranean style houses and the beaches of clean, golden sand. The only PGA approved championship golf course is Oliva Nova designed by Seve Ballesteros (can be seen from Villa May) which has all the top level facilities with practice green and driving range, restaurant and clubhouse etc., together with a centro commercial area with a supermarket, bank, laundry and various other shops and bars. There is an excellent selection of Bars and Restaurants within 5km. There are 2 restaurants within walking distance, Font Salada Hotel (menu del dia 3 course meal with wine & water for 15 euros) and the Font Salada Bar and Restaurant and the internationally known Font Salada where you can swim at 26Cdeg all year round. Local Markets are from early morning to 14.00 - Oliva on Friday. Gandia on Saturday and Denia on Mondays. Oliva is a traditional Spanish town where you can explore the back streets and learn about its rich Roman and Moorish past. Dominating the town on the summit of the Santa Ana mountain is the old castle, an impressive sight when lit up at night. Gandia city and the Port have excellent shopping facilities. For family fun Terra Mitica and Aqualandia theme parks 45 mins drive to Benidorm. Oliva is situated on the Costa Blanca and The World Health Organisation describes the climate of the Costa Blanca as one of being the best in the world. Oliva's summers are hot but not too hot due to the cooling breezes and the winters in Oliva are mild with many clear blue sunny days. Oliva's climate and weather is very healthy especially for sufferers of arthritis. At a distance of 75Km from Valencia Airport and 100Km from Alicante Airport, Oliva is connected to France by the A7 Motorway Exit 61. The motorway continues south, connecting with cities such as Denia, Altea, Benidorm and Alicante. There is a train service from Valencia to Gandia and from Denia to Alicante. From Denia ferries leave daily to Ibiza and Formentera.
