Beautifully furnished, two bedroom first floor flat balcony flat. Situated on the sea front in a listed building with fabulous sea views and close to all the main attractions of Margate. The many original features include high ceilings, tall sash windows and a marble fireplace in the living room. Within five minutes walking of Margate old Town, Turner Contemporary and local restaurants, bars and cafes. Fifteen minutes walk to Margate Railway Station.
Awarded a four star rating from Quality in Tourism, there is a very well equipped kitchen and a large family bathroom with a separate walk-in shower. There are two comfortable bedrooms, a large double with king size bed and a pretty twin bedroom
(beds are 2ft 6 x 6ft) with sea views at the front. These can also be made up as a double bed. A separate, private utility room has a washing machine and is perfect for storing suitcases, beach gear and muddy boots!
Sea View apartment is the perfect location for families with children of all ages ( a travel cot is provided), groups of friends or couples wanting to get away for a break by the sea. Margate has a thriving art scene with some great antique and junk shops to browse or you can spend hours simply gazing at the ever changing sea.
Linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. A basic welcome pack is included for weekly stays, however we can provide a hamper of your choice at an extra cost.
For winter bookings there is an extra charge for heating depending on length of stay. Please check with owner.
Unlimited free broadband and wifi is available for internet access.
The Margate Area: Margate has many delights, the most recent addition being the Turner Contemporary, transforming the Old Town into an area for artists and craftspeople. As well as the good old fish and chip shop, there are a number of good restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs to choose from, serving local fare as well as an award winning Indian Restaurant.
There are miles of beautiful coastline to explore either by foot or by bike, with evening walks along the promenade watching the sun setting across the water. You can visit Botany Bay and play pirates in the hidden caves, or just enjoy the sandy beaches at Joss and Kingsgate Bays.
Dreamland, is currently being restored to once again become a major tourist attraction.
For those who love a bargain, there are a host of junk shops in the Northdown Rd area and in the Old Town a Saturday Farmers Market and on Sundays a Craft/Antiques Fair. Margate also has some of the best vintage clothes shops around. There is also a lively local jazz music scene.
How to Get There: By road: Margate is approx 1 hour from the Dartford crossing via the M2/A2 and A299, 30 minutes from the Eurotunnel Terminal at Ashford and easily accessed via the channel ports of Ramsgate and Folkestone.
By rail: The apartment is approx 15 min walk along the seafront from Margate train station with an hourly high speed service from London St Pancras International and two per hr from London Victoria.
Local transport: 5 min walk from Margate Town Centre with local train/bus links. There is a bus stop within 100m of the apartment offering a loop service to Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Westwood Cross shopping centre.
The nearest airport is Manston with direct flights from Edinburgh and Belfast.
South East England/ Kent region: There are many attractions to the area and the one which draws most people is of course the sea. The coastal towns of Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Whitstable all have their unique atmosphere and don't forget the beauty and history of Canterbury.

Lovely well equipped apartment. Great to explore Margate. We had a nice dinner at Sand's Hotel and a great brunch at Fort's Cafe.
I have worked in the tourist industry for many years, first as an agent and now as an owner of a holiday home rental.
When I first saw this flat, I was impressed by the wonderful views and also how near it is to everything so perfect for walking. Being an art lover and Turner being one of my favourite painters, it was very hard not to be drawn by the history of the area. I also love junk shops and Margate has some of the best and I've found some real bargains, many of which now furnish the flat. As I live in London most of the time, what could be better than to hop on a train and get away from the big city and simply gaze out to sea. Even in mid winter, when there's always a warm friendly pub to sit in after a long walk.
I love this flat because it has everything I need but most of all, it has to be the views. I also love the high ceilings and the tall windows and original features, especially the fireplace.
