Excellent location

The walk from the train station to Dean Street was a very pleasant step back in time, past old but well maintained buildings in residential and commercial neighborhoods. The flat itself was tucked away from the street near a walking path along the Water of Leith and not far from the Arboretum. The dining/living room/kitchen area was small, but with two bedrooms and a patio outside the kitchen, there was enough room to spread out. The owners were attentive to details in their written instructions/explanations. And upon our arrival, they stopped in to make sure we had what we needed to enjoy our stay. We were close to shops for groceries, pubs for meals, and the bus stop to travel the countryside on day trips. But after a long day of activities, this flat was a comfortable place to return to in the evening.

Wonderful cottage-feel, Wonderful location

The pictures do not capture what a great place this is. The flat is spacious, the decor clean and comfortable, and the location is outstanding. Feels like a hidden summer cottage, but is ideally situated near pubs and grocery stores. Right by the botanic gardenes, 10 minutes from Queen St, and right along the Water of Leith walk, this was a perfect starting point for exploring parts of Edinburgh most people miss entirely. The visitor guide provided was great, check in was incredibly easy, and the owner was extremely accomodating. I could happily have stayed for month. I recommend the Blue Parrot Cantina and walking to St Bernards Well.

Loved it!

Cliff was very friendly and always got back to me. They left a note for us which was welcoming and a box of butter cookies, too kind :) The apt itself was clean and cozy. It was roomy and enjoyable. There were 3 of us that stayed here and we all loved it. I will definitely be checking into getting this place again my next trip to Scotland. Thank you Cliff for a wonderful place to stay!

Loved the Apartment, Edinburgh and Stockbridge..

The apartment was nicer than the pictures. Quiet, Cozy, Comfortable Bed and everything you need in the kitchen, including a washer/dryer combo. The directions were perfect and the process of getting into the apartment was easy. It was a 20 pound taxi ride from the airport. Completely enjoyed the Stockbridge area. Dozens of cafe's, restaurants and "Charity/Thrift Shops" within 5 minute walk. Sunday there is a small farmers market 2 minutes to your left and across the street.The closes grocery store is 30 seconds to your left. Fresh baked breads and my new favorite, Almond Croissant. Buy 2, it's cheaper. There are also markets to your right about 2 minutes. I could easily walk to The Royal Mile in 25 minutes. Princes St. is even closer. Edinburgh is very hilly. I walked everywhere but the good thing is, it's all down hill on your way back to the apartment. There is a bus stop 30 seconds from the apartment. Did a day trip to St. Andrews. Great little town and of course the birthplace of golf. I loved Edinburgh! I hope to go back for a longer visit. I would be happy to stay at this apartment again and I think you would enjoy it, too.

Stockbridge is Where You Want To Be, in this Flat!

Terrific Place...Terrific Location!

I love this part of Edinburgh. Stockbridge is great. And this apartment, while quiet and very private, is 50 yards away from where you want to be in Stockbridge. A block or two from great restaurants, shops and pubs, a 10-15 minute leisurely walk to the Old Town and the Castle, the location just can't be beat. I often took a cup of coffee and walked to Dean Village. Literally three minutes after I left this flat, I was alone in the woods, walking beside a beautiful stream.

The apartment itself is great. Rock-solid reliable internet, good TV, movies and stereo, comfy beds and a terrific bathroom and shower. I have rented over a dozen apartments around the world and I wish they all were as comfortable as this one. I can't think of a single thing to suggest to make it better. Add to that how patient, kind, helpful and pleasant the renters are and it adds up to the most hearty recommendation I can make.

I can't wait to get back to Edinburgh and, more specifically, to this apartment.

Great Edinburgh Location

This was our second stay at this great Stockbridge location. In 2011 we spent several months here and loved the accessibility and location of this property. It is a small but very well equipped ground floor apartment with excellent links to transport (a bus stop virtually at the front door), and the many excellent restaurants Edinburgh and Stockbridge have to offer. An excellent gastropub is literally on the doorstep. The owners are welcoming, extremely accommodating and did their upmost to make our stay and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

One can also get a hint of countryside by strolling along the scenic Water of Leith, the river connecting Dean Village to the west to Leith to the east, taking in the Gallery of Modern Art and Murrayfield on the way.

Local parks include the beautiful Botanical Gardens and Inverleith Park and are both only 5 minute walks from the flat.

A stone’s throw away are the Glenogle Swimming Baths –a modern pool in a unique Victorian setting.
