Dreaming Cottage is a perfect starting point for excursions in this culturally rich region.
Lucca is one of the gems of Tuscany: smaller and more intimate than nearby Pisa, Florence and Siena; it’s a beautiful historic town with Roman origins, whose renaissance walls form a shady circular promenade around which you can walk or cycle.
It offers medieval towers to visit, ancient churches, cathedral, palazzi, art galleries, museums, botanical gardens, stylish boutiques, good restaurants, an opera house, daily recitals of Puccini (himself a Lucchese) in a 12th c church. There’s also a Puccini festival every summer at Torre del Lago, 30 mins away.
The many ravishing 16th & 17th c grand villas and gardens within 5 mins of the house are well worth visiting.
Other Activities: Opera, music, art, wine and olive-oil tasting
Golf: We submit you two adresses of the nearest GolfClubs:

Ski: Just 60 km from Segromigno Piano are the Abetone, the most famous tourist destination in the mountains of central Italy, both winter and summer.
Abetone is a small resort about 90 minutes away. While not a major destination for international ski tourism, it has spawned several italian champions over the years and makes a great day out.
Summer: Abetone in the summer season turns into a tourist centre to meet the needs of those who want to enjoy moments of relaxation and a bit 'of fresh air, taking long walks, on foot or by mountain bike, or practising tennis or soccer.
