This unusual and intimate streamside home is located ten yards from a water-course that tumbles into three pools. Another larger river also freeflows through the property.
The hand-crafted home has an airy layout with excellent views of not only the streams and pools on the site itself but also of the more distant mountains and a waterfall. The main house has one bedroom as well as the living and eating areas and a great lanai.
Also available are a cottage with one bedroom and full bath, and a smaller screened cottage with a full bed and half-bath. The entire 3 acre property is only available as one rental and is not split up.
A Riverhouse is located just one mile from the beach and is situated midway between, to the east, Hanalei and Lumahai Beaches, and to the west are located both the world-renown Tunnels Beach as well as Ke'e beach and the start of the Na Pali Trail..
This home welcomes you with the sounds of cascading waters and songs of myriad birds! Lush jungle vegetation, privacy, relaxation, cool mountain breezes and beauty will surround you. Riverhouse is the epitomy of laid back old rural Hawaii. And the North Shore's famous beaches, restaurants, and eclectic shops are just a few short miles away!
Beware there is a semi-resident kitty cat, ChuChee who is politely fond of a little affection!

A River House is a spectacular and beautiful getaway set in lush tropical gardens and along a roaring river. A touch of real Hawaii as well, though close to more touristy venues, incredible beaches, and challenging hikes. Great privacy and peace. Owners take pride in property and obviously enjoy sharing it when they are not there.
Even in rainy season, a delight! Would recommend to anyone without reservation.

Rocky and I, Amanda are only able to stay home here at the Jungle Riverhouse for about half of every year. When we leave Kauai, we generally head to Seattle where our boat is moored. We own and operate a 90 foot fish packer that collects salmon in the Alaskan waters and delivers them to the plant to be filleted and vacuum packed.
Early on we learned that the many humpback whales that we saw in Alaska headed for the Hawaiian Islands to spend the winters. We thought that sounded like an excellent idea and we came here to explore. It was love at first sight with Kauai's North Shore! And then, to have found this place was completely off the charts!
While we are here, we spend a lot of time working on the grounds and also enjoying time with family and friends who always seem to find their way to our doorstep!
To be back a few steps from the busy world is a gift. To be awakened in the morning by bird and river song is a jewel. To wander these grounds is a pleasure.
The famous Na Pali Trail starts less than 5 miles from Riverhouse. It is a 11 mile hike into valleys and beaches that are completely undeveloped. It is a hike best done with at least a 3 day timeframe.
Other epic hikes are also available not only on the North Shore but also throughout the island.
The beaches also provide beautiful and long stretches of the best sandy walks ever!
But be very careful - you could just fall in love with Kauai!
