This 88 m² duplex apartment in La Daille comprises:
Open plan kitchen/dining area/sitting room. 37” television, stereo + iPod dock, Freesat, Wifi, telephone, large 3 seater sofa & 2 armchairs, wine fridge, fridge/freezer, induction hob, full size oven, microwave, dishwasher. Extremely well equipped kitchen. Dining table seats 8 & 4 bar stools in the kitchen.
Main bedroom: 1 double bedroom (king-size bed), en-suite bathroom with bath (180 x 80) with overhead shower and hand shower, WC, hair dryer, 26” television.
Upstairs: 1 double bedroom, shower room with WC & hair dryer, double room which can either be 2 single beds or a king-size bed.
Each bedroom has a radio/iPod dock.
Separate downstairs WC.
Laundry room with ski boot drier, laundry sink, washing machine, tumble drier.
Complimentary L'Occitane products in each bathroom: shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel & soap.
2 balconies: South and North facing.
Extra information and getting there: Skis and boots can be pre-ordered with a minimum of 20% discount from Intersport website, La Daille shop. They will be ready for collection on your arrival. The shop is a few minutes’ walk from the apartment.
Ski passes can be pre-booked on-line.
If you would like an off-piste guide or ski instructor for your stay, please ask for details and we will endeavour to organise someone. Please give us as much notice as possible as they get very booked up.
There are regular buses from Geneva airport which take around 4 hours. Please look on-line for the timetable. NB: Be careful to see when the buses leave, as the timetable varies according to the day of the week. There is a small line at the top of the timetable with the days of the week that buses are operational – not very obvious! Alternatively taxis are around €320 and take between 2.5 to 3 hours to reach Val d’Isere.
Flights are also to Lyon and Chambery.
The resort: Activities on offer are husky sledding, ice driving, ice skating, paragliding (paragliding) snow-mobiling, snowshoe walking (Raquette a neige) with 24 km of marked paths for winter walking trails.
This year a new leisure centre has opened which has a swimming pool (250 m²), leisure pool (430 m²), climbing area, multi-activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, 2 squash courts and a wellness zone (sauna, spa, cold baths, hydro-massage, etc). You gain 1 free pool entry with a 2-15 day lift pass.
Perhaps you would prefer to try pilates or yoga or maybe a game of chess or bridge, or simply go to the cinema showing different films every night and also on very bad weather days.
One evening why not try dinner in an igloo at the top of the mountain. Ascent is by helicopter or skidoo, dinner in the igloo, followed by a torchlight descent. Alternatively on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5.30pm discover the recreational fun zone at the foot of the slopes and have an introduction to Snake Gliss and Airboard. Also there is floodlit giant slalom and cross country ski racing by night.
Mondays are market day: local Savoie food produce, clothes, sweets and gifts.
On Thursday nights the main high street of Val d’Isere is closed to become a pedestrian zone where you will find live music, ice and snow sculpting and parades.
There are an abundance of bars, restaurants and nightclubs to sample with a huge variety of cuisine, and of course many shops to tempt you with either clothes, interiors for the home or delicious food.
If you have never been to Val d’Isere it is definitely a place you should visit.
I just wanted to inform you that we are enjoying a lot our stay in your charming apartment. All the furnitures are perfect. We can find all the little things needed in a house , especially in the kitchen.
So, we don't feel like people renting a house, but like friends invited in a private and sweet home. I just have to thank you for this great holiday. Many thanks also to jitka who is really professional and helpful.
Really loved La Daille location, simple ski down to the funicular which runs even when the gondolas are stopped. Chalet is only one on top floor of that part of the apartment block. Great views of the "OK/World Cup" piste. Fabulous run home on fast red - true ski in / ski out.
Owner and in resort property manager couldnt have done more to make our stay more comfortable. Found a superb chef for us when we wanted a special dinner in the chalet. Chef approved of the kitchen which was kitted out to a superb standard.
All beds comfortable as was sitting area which was well laid out. Master bedroom and shower / bathroom were excellent and generous sizes. Second double bedroom smaller with sloping ceiling but OK. In the second showerroom the shower cubicle was very small but not unusually so for a French chalet. Would not be an issue for kids. Third room had quite a low ceiling but took our babies' travel cot on the bed with plenty of headroom.
Superb appartment, modern and comfortable with wonderful views over the valley. Madeleine has done a great job equipping the flat with all you need for a fantastic ski holiday. Our group of five would all highly recommend to family and friends, we had a brilliant week.
We returned for the 2nd year in a row and it felt like coming home… so nice to return and know where we were staying and what to expect. We had another fantastic ski week at Le Santel in the very well equipped and comfortable apartment. We really enjoy the location with easy access to both Val d'Isere and Tignes skiing. I would highly recommend it for a family stay…We enjoy the privacy of being the only apt on the floor and the elevator giving direct access to the door of the apartment. There has also never been any noise from other apartments- a very private experience.
The condo is warm and cozy, well appointed and offers the prized and rare ski-in and ski-out experience. The views from both balconies are even better than what we expected. The complex is well maintained and quiet despite being rather large.
The owner was extremely helpful from the moment of inquiry to the last day of our stay.
The only negative is that you are not in the main village of Val D'Isere but having said that, it is within walking distance and the free bus system is very efficient although it does stop at 8pm which is bit early if you want to have dinner in the village. But if you are like us, after a full day of skiing we were content to go back "home" for our meal especially on days we availed of the eateries on the mountain.
In all a great choice especially if you would rather ski that end of the terrain and Tignes.
In January 2014 it was the tenth time that we visited the big white circus of Espace Killy. We have had a very enjoyable stay thanks in part to this wunderful apartment. Indeed, Madeleine has thought of everything to ensure our holiday as a special one. We will return soon to this idylic station and, if possible, to this beautiful apartment. A bientôt, M & C
The apartment building is conveniently situated on the slopes of Bellevarde and is ski in, ski out. La Daille has a supermarket, bakery, bar, newsagent, two ski rental shops and several restaurants close by. During the winter ski season there is a butcher's van in the car park of the Centre Commerciale every Wednesday afternoon. In the summer there are tennis courts and a swimming pool just below the building.
Ski: Val d’Isere barely needs any introduction as over the years it has become one of the biggest and most well-known ski resorts in Europe owing to the enormous ski area that it has to offer. It is part of the vast Espace Killy area which is made up of Val d’Isere and it’s neighbouring resort Tignes. It has 300kms of marked pisted runs and also some of the most awesome off piste skiing. It is a fantastic destination for both skiers and snowboarders alike. The lift system is extremely efficient and fast so you rarely have to queue to get to the top of the mountain. Mountain top restaurants have improved hugely over the last few years, now offering fabulous food for a delicious lunch.
If you prefer to participate in cross country skiing (ski de fond) there are 21kms of tracks.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The remaining 75% of the rental fee together with a 25% breakages deposit (returned within 2 weeks of the end of your holiday) is required 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. Payment should be by bank transfer.
