Completely modernised and renovated 3 bedroom terrace property over 3 floors, with parking at rear for two vehicles. Bosch appliances including dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Electric oven, microwave and gas hob. Open plan living/dining area with beautiful white leather couches. Great sized bedrooms include one king, one double and one twin loft room. Superb tiled wet room-style bathroom includes both power shower and bath. Lovely sunny terrace at breakfast, and views over the bay from the loft room. The property sits in the quieter part of St Ives, avoiding the late night noise of the harbour, with a 5-10 minute walk down the hill into the town centre and beaches. The property benefits from having car parking space for 2 vehicles at the rear of the property, accessed by a private lane off the main road. There is a small supermarket 50 yards away, across from the property, which stocks most products and is extremely handy. Weekend rates available now... Make an offer!

Fab 2 stays in 2013 at the anchorage St Ives

We have stayed 2 times this year at The anchorage both in April 2013 and October 2013 and both times we have been very happy, delighted with the place. Not sure of the last review with adverse comments but we have always found the place clean, tidy, inviting, homely, relaxing and enjoyable even on rainy days. His time around my son wanted to sleep both in the main bedrooms as well as he bedrooms in the attic area. We always have great holidays here and have been holidaying in st ives for years and wish we have found this place sooner to rent. The place as in my previous reviews is within easy access to town and a local co op is across the road, the leisure centre is minutes away. Walking to town is just down the hill. He house well equipped with dish washer, outside washing machine which is great as less noise. There may be one or two plates chipped but so what this does not matter as things like this does not spoil your holiday . There were plenty of plates that wee not chipped so not something that would worry me. The people who own the place are friendly, got the place ready early as we have a son with medical conditions,the place was warm, cosy, everything we could want, I would buy this place if I could as we always have a fab holiday. The listing description was inaccurate

I have to give a rating to submit this review, but I would not give it any stars...
Was not, as stated, completely modernised and renovated...
The kitchen crockery was all chipped, the utensils were very old, the kitchen knives (2 of them) were blunt, an old frying pan that did not possess a handle was a real gem... the kitchen had a fusty smell, particularly strong in the kitchen drawers. The kitchen sink's wooden worktop surround was black from damp.
There was no mention in the listing description of a steep spiral staircase to the 3rd bedroom.
Overall, the general maintenance of the property was appalling.

Owner's Response: It is with great disappointment that we received this review. In 3 years of letting the property we have not had one complaint, and the depth and strength of this guests reaction has bewildered us. We have looked at each comment and taken them on board. It can only be said that you cant please all people all of the time, and both guests who have rented the property straight after and have said how lovely the house is without having changed a thing. We are saddened that they felt like this towards our property, and hope they are able to find properties that they like in the future.

Fantastic holiday rental

We have stayed in St Ives every year normally at an apartment this time around we decided to rent a house and we had a fantastic holiday as we found the house location, facilities added to our holiday experience.

The house was so enjoyable to stay in as it made a difference having 2 car parking spaces right outside the property so we did not need to find any parking or carry all our stuff from the car park to our place so this was a great bonus for us.

The house was clean, modern very comfortable and easy to maintain with added bonus of dishwasher and washing machine making it easy and relaxing as I normally wash up so much at home it was nice to use a dish washer as a treat.

The location of the property was great it was away from the town and so there were no early morning deliveries that woke you up. The only nights where it was a little bit more lively outside was over the weekend with people walking home from the town other than that was very peaceful.

The property had lots of wow factors, The bathroom, car parking, modern feel to the place. The loft room with twin rooms even though we did not use these they were great for children as had black out blinds.

We found the owners Simon and Maria were excellent the customer service they provided and the cleanliness of the house was firstl class. Before we arrived we were given very good handover list of everything to do with the property and we met the owners on arriving which was nice.

We will certainly stay at this property again as we found we were able to relax as soon as we stepped inside the house. Even though the property was up a steep hill we did not find the walk to and from the house to our disadvantage as it was veyr pleasant and kept us fit. Even my mum and dad who are in their 60's and 70's enjoyed the walk too and from the house.

My son loved his holiday and we were sad to return home afterwards.

I would recommend this property to friends, relatives.

There were plenty of places to visit from the local restaurants, art galleries, shops to futher a field like Eden, seal sactuary not far by car.


There was a co op store which was 5 mins walk from our property which stayed open long ours which was so convenient.


Thanks again Simon and Maria. We have started to save up our money again for a return holiday.

We have always gone to St Ives for a holiday and normally rent an apartment. This time we rented this lovely house. Which was very modern, clean and comfortable. Wow factors for the property the bathroom, having 2 car park spaces and the property being away from the town so less hectic at night were an added bonus.

The owners on the property gave us excellent customer service and handover notes before arriving so we knew everything about the property, local area and useful numbers and were there when we arrived at the property.

The property was clean, comfortable and had a great layout with twin rooms in the loft room with black out blinds which made it ideal for children. Even though the property was a good 15 min walk uphill to get too we really enjoyed the walk too and from the property so we did not find the location a disadvantage in any way.

We felt at home straight away at the anchorage and the property facilities of having a washing machine and dish washer was an added bonus.

The property was easy to maintain and was very enjoyable to stay in. We felt so comfortable as soon as we arrived there. The storage space in the main bed rooms was very good and easy to quickly unpack and start enjoying your holiday.

The location of the house was great. We were away from all the pub's and early deliveries so it was very peaceful. We are only 5 mins walk from a co op which opened long hours and was very convenient. We had a fab holiday and the owners did everything they can to make our stay enjoyable.

Fantastic place will stay there again. Thank you to Simon and Maria.

Lovely stay in fabulous home

We had a lovely stay at the Anchorage and would fully recommend this holiday let. Had a great stay in August and although St Ives town was mad, the house is just far enough out that you miss all the noise but close enough to have access to all the beaches, restaurants etc.
Really warm,comfortable and cosy. Everything you need to cook and restaurants close by if you don't. Bedrooms are all good size and lots of natural light but the crowning glory is the wet room bathroom which is absolutely stunning.
Tate gallery less than 10 mins walk as well as Bernard Leech pottery museum just up the road.
Space for 2 cars is very rare in St Ives and saved us a fortune in parking.
Simon and Maria were very helpful and prompt in booking the property and all in all a great experience... Thank you.
