Notes:
Heating is provided by a ground source heat pump which extracts heat from the ground and using a compressor delivers warm water to the under floor heating coils. In Chalet Le Kiwi Vert it is even used for the boot warmers. The Ground Source Heating is complemented by Solar Panels on the south facing roof. Air extracted from the chalet is passed through a heat exchanger to recover up to 90% of the heat in the winter. In summer it stops the introduction of hot air into the chalet providing instant air conditioning! Where possible the wood used has been either reclaimed or from renewable sources, even the hot tub is made from cedar wood rather than plastic. And a highly efficient Italian wood burner ensures the heat produced doesn’t escape to the atmosphere. And not forgetting the induction hob, low energy lighting, recycled glass kitchen worktop, etc. which all help to make this a truly Eco chalet.
