1st class apartment in the heart of Venice, easy to reach, hard to be left

This 90 square meter apartment, recently restored and qualified as a 1st class structure from the local authority, welcomes up to 4 people. It is located on the first floor, with a separate laundry room on the ground floor. Soft colours and lights have been chosen to relax you and make you feel at home. It is furnished in a modern but classic style, to meet your needs. There is a wide living room with two armchairs and a very comfortable double sofa, a 32'' flat screen TV LCD, satellite TV, DVD player, a docking station and a free wifi internet connection, books and guides. The spacious master bedroom comes with a king sized bed, a big wardrobe and a writing desk. The second bedroom has two twin beds, a big wardrobe and a writing desk. The two bathrooms are both equipped with large glass shower cubicles, wash basins and loos. The kitchen is very well equipped, with all amenities and a large table which sits up to 6 people. The apartment is perfect for short or long term stays; to work, rest and entertain.

About Rosa

My name is Rosa, I was born and I live in Venice, a city that I love in every little detail, from the history to the art, the architecture and the way of living.

I manage with pleasure 3 apartments in the historic center of the city, adding this activity to my business managing a small perfumery near Piazza San Marco.

I speak and write fluently in English and French.

I love to travel and to find cozy places that make me feel at ease wherever I am.

Why Rosa chose Santa Croce

This apartment belongs to my family. I decided to dedicate it to this activity because I love having contact with people from all over the world; opportunity that the international vocation of Venice allows me to accomplish.

I started this business with the main aim of making my guests's stay in the city as pleasant and comfortable as possible, so to return to their homes not only retaining the memory of the places visited, but also the feeling of having found their own 'home' in Venice.

My effort is, through custom maps and advice, to make discover Venice, not only as a tourist destination but as a city to love in its most secret shades; what I try to do, through my reading of the history of the city and my wandering in the constant research for hidden corners, is to transfer my passion to my guests, in the hope that it becomes a bit theirs too.

Arranging the apartments, I always try to interpret the needs of my guests, what they may need exactly as if I were the one who should stay.

Perfect Venice experience!

This lovely apartment was all we (4 of us) had hoped for - & more. A quiet & convenient location, it had absolutely everything we needed (including Rosa's thoughtful touch of Prosecco & dessert cookies). Charmingly and beautifully appointed, very comfortable, spotlessly clean. Rosa was just wonderful - responded promptly to our emails, met us at the boat stop when we arrived, provided us with all the information we needed for our visit. We would highly recommend this property & would definitely stay here - or any of Rosa's apartments - again. It was perfect! Wish we could've stayed longer.

Exactly what we were hoping for!

When you are booking any stay away there is always a concern that the accommodation won't reach expectations or be in reality, as portrayed in publicity material - we have had several such unhappy experiences in the past. This was a particular worry for our trip to Venice this week as my wife and I were accompanied by our brother-in-law and sister-in-law visiting the UK from Canada and we didn't want any disappointments for a short break with them in Venice! To say we were delighted with what we found in this apartment is an understatement - it was perfect. Tucked down a small alleyway just a few metres from a little canal at the end, the flat was spotless, modern, comfortable, well equipped and very quiet and as only a few minutes walk from the fish market (and the brilliant public gondola ferry across the Grand Canal for 2 Euro) and the Rialto Bridge (not so highly recommended) it is central, yet away from the tourist centres but with lots of restaurants and choices of places to get breakfast nearby. Close too to the San Stae boat stop it really is a superb location. Our pleasure regarding the apartment was certainly enhanced by the owner Rosa, who responded to e-mail & text with awesome efficiency, gave much appreciated advice, maps and guidance and both met us on arrival via the ferry late at night and again to say goodbye when we departed. After this very positive experience, friends and family planning to visit Venice will be strongly encouraged to book one of Rosa's properties in the confidence they won't be dissapointed. We returned to the UK extremely happy with every aspect of this VRBO property and with Rosa, who was the icing on the Venetian cake!

Wonderful

Well, after a wonderful stay in Budapest, we were not disappointed in the least with this property. Contact with Rosa was easy and efficient by email and phone, meeting details were perfect and the propert met all expectations. For the uninitiated North American, Venice is hardly a "new" city.. And as you find your way initially to the apartment, you may wonder what you got into with what appears to be old, decaying buildings fro the outside. But wneh you arrive and enter the apartment - it is simply perfect. Pristine clean, with hardwood floors, new bathrooms (smallish shower for larger people like me ) and a very functional kitchen with automated espresso machine (nice touch ).

The location is initially slightly confusing, as to get from a to b you are wandering through narrow pathways and over bridges.. and that shift in expectation is important I think for North American travellers in particular to be prepared for - seniors might be wary of the narrow and darkish passageways in the evenings (my mother was slightly nervous ) But after a day of exploring, you soon get pretty comfortable with the layout of things and enjoy not being in the centre of the tourist crowds of St. Marks or Rialto - but close enough to wander there with ease.

We could not be more pleased with the apartment and service and would highly recommend to others.

Excellent Apartment

Enjoyed 3 nights in this lovely apartment. Extremely clean, nicely furnished, great mattresses, great location within 5 minutes to Rialto Market and minutes to San Stae boat stop. Could not have been happier with our selection of this apt. It looks exactly as the pictures depict. Traveled with my sister and two nephews, 17 & 20. Was met at the boat stop and taken to the apt, given maps, local dining and shopping locations, and a nice welcome gift of Italian cookies and Prosecco. Rosa answered all my questions quickly and provided travel recommendations to get from airport to Venice. (Take the Alilaguna line right from the airport to St. Stae). Would highly recommend this property.

Our favorite Italian apartment we stayed in for our 10 day trip. Rosa was wonderful! Her apartment is in an excellent quite location. She was so great to deal with. Very prompt in her emails and so helpful during check in. The apartment is better than the pictures. It is very clean and well equipped. There is a small bar and store very close that were open late. We will be back to stay at this fabulous apartment. Thank you Rosa!

ABOUT THE LOCATION

If you like the idea of living Venice as a local, this cosy and comfortable apartment will be the right choice. It is situated in the very heart of Venice and located in a quiet 'calle', just a short walk from the Rialto Bridge and its vivacious marketplace and ten minutes far from St Mark's. It offers an excellent base for walking and losing yourself in the maze of narrow 'calli', courtyards and 'campi', discovering many secrets of this town, carrying with you, if you like, our own suggestions and advice.

A few steps from the apartment you can visit Ca' Pesaro (International Gallery of Modern Art), Mocenigo Palace (Center of Studies on the History of Textiles and Costumes), and the Museum of Natural History. For your leisure it will be impossible to miss the plenty of artisanal shops and for your pleasure the wide choice of restaurants, 'bacari', pizzerie, wineshops, bakeries, groceries and supermarkets.

You will find everything you need to spend a wonderful holiday in our town.

HOW TO REACH THE APARTMENT

Arriving by plane.

If you land at the Venice or Treviso airports, the apartment is reachable by taking the direct shuttle bus to Piazzale Roma and then the ACTV Vaporetto line 1, direction Lido, getting off at the stop 'San Stae', only 5 minutes from the apartment.

Alternatively, but only if you land at the Marco Polo airport in Venice, you can take the Alilaguna Linea Arancio waterbus and get off at the stop 'San Stae'; the trip takes about 45 minutes.

Arriving by car.

If you arrive by car, you can park in Piazzale Roma and from there take the ACTV Vaporetto line 1, direction Lido, getting off at 'San Stae'.

If you park at the Tronchetto, you can reach Piazzale Roma in 3 minutes with the shuttle 'People mover'.

Arriving by train.

Finally, arriving by train, you can take the ACTV Vaporetto line 1 outside the train station and get off at the stop 'San Stae'.
