About Manolis Deligiannakis
My name is Manolis Deligiannakis. I manage this property on behalf of my family since 2010.
I currently live, study media&sociology(BA) and work in London, UK. My family and I try to provide the guests of our property with the best service and advice possible. Especially since my departure from Crete to live in the UK I have realized how unique Crete really is. Therefore I make sure to return on a regular basis and explore the island as much as I can, in order to discover all of its hidden sides and to share my experience with our guests.
Manolis Deligiannakis purchased this villa in 2002
Why Manolis Deligiannakis chose Rethymnon
This property was bought by my family in 2002. It is a traditional Turkish, stone structure, dating back to the 1800's. It was renovated carefully in order to preserve its unique character while combining modern design and appliances.
What makes this villa unique
The main, traditional Turkish features of architecture are still there! High ceilings, stone arcs and an old grape-juicing space turned into comfortable living room space. The stone structure ensures the property remains cool, even during the hottest summer days! Photos really do not do this property full justice!
Furthermore, the property benefits greatly from its location on the island of Crete. It is almost at the center of the island, in a traditional village, just a 10 minute car-ride away from the closest beach and the town of Rethymno. It makes the perfect location to base your stay while exploring the island, since most of the beautiful and popular attractions are less than a one hour car-drive away (With the exception of eastern Heracklion and the Lasithi region)
Guestbook comments from the owner
We stayed in Villa Sophia in July 2011, had a great time. The owners were extremely friendly and the Villa was clean and welcoming. The local village is quiet and well equipped, the local Tavernas serve great food and great hospitality all within a few minutes walk from the villa. Our best part of the Villa was enjoying the views from the top veranda and lounging by the pool in the peace and quiet.
