: The Lodmoor
The classic seaside resort of Weymouth has a superb blue flag sandy beach and one of the few working harbours left in the UK. With it's eclectic mix of old fashioned seaside charm and contemporary influences, it is perfect for families and couples alike. The seafront is connected by over three miles of level promenade and the views from the bay are spectacular, stretching across the horizon taking in the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline.
In addition to the beach, Weymouth is home to Lodmoor Country Park with its many attractions and amenities, including the Sea Life Park & Marine Sanctuary. In 2011, the UK's first sand sculpture park (Sandworld) will be opening there. Next door to this is Radipole Lake, the RSPB nature reserve. Also located in the surrounding area are Sharky's Adventure Play Zone and the Nothe Fort, a Victorian fortress with WWII memorabilia.
Other Activities: Crown green bowling, paddling pool/sandpit, beach entertainment in high season (e.g. pedalos, trampolines, Punch and Judy)
