We are Pim and Anita Lexmond - Boone. We live and work ( we have 2 fitness clubs )in the south of Holland. Close to Belgium. We've been coming to Sainte Foy since 1995. Fell in love with the station and never left. Sainte Foy is for us the best place to go for our winter, summer and in between holidays. We cycle every summer all the big Cols with friends. Walk and ski in the autumn and winter. We love skiing off piste as well as on the beautiful slopes. Since we are here 2 friends bought apartments also here. Every year we are surprised with the new extensions they make in the station. It's keep getting better every year.
Anita Boone purchased this chalet in 1998
It was always our dream to have a chalet in the mountains. We visited Sainte Foy in the summer of 1995. They were going to start to build the first 5 chalets and this was for us the right tine to make our dreams come true.We love to do all the sportive things you can do in summer and winter. And never get bored with the beautiful view we have from our chalet. We see this love for the mountain live back in our children. The big tree house they build in 1995 next to our chalet is still there.
the stunning view, the mountain atmosphere in our chalet. The picturesque village of Sainte Foy.
and let's not forget our big terrace with the Barrel Sauna and Storvatt. There nothing like having a glass of champagne with friends in the Storvatt. after a day of skiing or walking.
We have celebrated our holidays in Sainte Foy for a few years now and every time we feel more and more welcome and at home due te the good care of Anita. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished to cook, eat, relax and enjoy the good things in life.We love the house and we love the mountain. Our group has a big variety of age and experience in wintersports, but there are opportunities for each person to have a great time. We highly recommend Chalet du Grand Col.
This year we had a wonderfull stay in the Grand Col chalet for 2 weeks over New years. Even though we didn't have that much snow we still had a very good holiday. We had a lot of days when the snow wasn't that good that we just stayed in the chalet, lit the fire and had a nice day or reading and playing games.
Over new years we had a big outdoors bbq on the deck and we sat in the hottub.
This chalet makes your holiday complete even when the snow isn't the best. But luckely we go some good snow after new years and we could ski some pow in, what I still think, the best freeride resort in France. Hope to be back there soon.
Perfect location for die-hard free-riders and recreational skiers and even non skiers. We had a very diverse group of friends and everyone had a great weekend. The chalet is absolutely stunning. The kitchen is great, the living is too cosy to leave and all the bedrooms are equally wonderful. The sauna and the Storvat make it extra special. My friends said when they arrived they never saw a chalet this beautiful... we all had a hard time leaving. Highly recommended. Price - value very ok.
A lovely chalet exactly as described. 4 of our children aged 12 and under all slept in the "quad" room with the DVD player and loved it.
There was everything we needed in the kitchen and more. Anita responded promptly to e-mail queries and everything was well organised. Even late in the season it was (just )possible to ski back to the chalet ...through a few trees and across a stream at this time of year! Getting onto the piste was also easy with a 50m walk.
We loved the "Storvatt" hot tub at the end of the day and the sauna-with-a-view was a real treat at the end of the day and easy to operate.
It took 25 minutes to be parked at Tignes, possibly less to Brevieres and we also skied Les Arcs ,parking at Bourg St Maurice which is also 25-30 mins away.
I'd definitely recommend the chalet.
St foy Tarentaise is in my opinion the best resort in the Alps! If you're looking for high quality skiing that is. Ever since i've been a wee guy shredding my snowboard I've been going to St foy. And I still like it as much as I did then. Maybe even more! It's perfect for families with kids that are just learning how to ski/snowboard. The resort is built up well and its fairly easy to oversee a big part of the resort. So they can go their own way without getting lost.
But now, as an experienced snowboarder, there is still lots of new ground to discover! ( off-piste) and even more if you're willing to hike for a wee bit! ( amazing backcountry!) I've been in a lot of resorts both in Europe and in North-America, even for several consecutive months, and I still love coming to St Foy and especially the Grand Col! It's located next to the slopes so you can ski unto the patio! Switch the sauna 'on' on your way in, get rid of your wet gear and sneak back into the sauna! Or the storvatt if that's more your thing :)
I can go on forever, but I think I made my point.. It's the perfect chalet in the perfect resort! Have a good one!
I've been coming to Grand Col for some years now. Arriving in the luxurious chalet always feels like coming home after the long journey. We arrived after a week of heavy snowfall, so the mountain was loaded! Our group consisted of advanced snowboarders lookin' to ride fresh powder slopes, so we couldn't have arrived a better time. Grand Col offered us a luxurious stay with loads of space. Heading out the first day brought us nice pistes which were groomed very well every day without exceptions. We didn't see much of the pistes though, since st. Foy is known for its backcountry riding, and we made sure we'd use the opportunity. Our group was familiar with the mountain and ski-resort so we could ride full days in the powder. I would recommend asking locals for routes or hiring an off-piste guide early in the week if you want to do hiking and backcountry slopes! The storrvat was sure to relax us after a day of heavy riding. I would definitely recommend this house for anyone looking for a relaxing week with no worries. The accomodations and scenery will leave you without a care in the world!
Stay in a authentic Savoie village, at a very charming and luxurious Savoie chalet. Stunning panoramic view over Mont Pourri, and the Aiguille Rouge. Also you are next to the beautiful forrest. Parking places in front of the chalet. Chalet du Grand Col is in the upper part of the village. It`s quit here and with free space around the chalet. Ski back on your big sunny terrace at the end of the day. Outside barrel sauna and Storvatt. Is an Scandinavian Hot Tub.
The slopes of Sainte Foy are famous through the whole valley. For beginners/ intermediate as for advanced ski- and snowboarders. Lots of opportunities to ski off piste. Good restaurants and bars, and very friendly english speaking Frenchmen. Val d` Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs en La Rosiere are close by to make different ski adventures. The snow conditions are almost always perfect because of the position of the slopes. Come and enjoy the Savoie way of skiing holidays. Skischool and lifts at 300 mtrs.
Other Activities: Off piste skiing, helicopter skiing, dog sledges
