Adjacent to Anapilipsi, Makrygialos was once a tiny fishing village, but is now an established and popular resort due to the friendly local hospitality, with visitors returning year after year. The name Makrygialos means 'Long Beach' and you will find a long sandy beach with crystal clear, shallow waters. The beach is lined with a good variety of tavernas. Likewise the harbour and promenade has an abundance of restaurants, bars and cafes to suit all tastes, and is as beautiful as it is atmospheric.
Scuba diving, sailing trekking, fishing, all manners of water sports and many other activities are available within a short distance of the village. Some of the more popular local trips are, Pefka Gorge (an excellent walk), a Daily ferry to island of Lefki or Wine Tasting at Mona Kapsa Monastry
In addition, there are many secluded coves and beaches where you can swim in crystal clear waters where you may hardly notice another soul, even in the height of summer.
