Beaches: The beaches in front of the house are made up of little coves so ideal for children.

El Palo and Pedregalejo beaches even though being very close to town have a unique character, they each have their bars and restaurants and both beaches are well maintained., every summer they celebrate the Virgin del Carmen (16th of July), patron saint of the fishermen, they take the Virgin out of her church and out to sea in a boat, while being followed in procession by the fishing boats. You can walk along the beaches of El Palo and Pedregalejo and continue your stroll till the Baños del Carmen and from there to the maritime promenade of Malaga that will lead you to the entrance of the park and from there to the town

Malaga: . Malaga itself is a lovely old town with lots of charm. It has maintained its Spanish character. Apart from a huge cultural offering of concerts and theatres, there are many museums and art galleries, the most famous being the Picasso museum and the Centre of Contemporary Art. Malaga is famous for its tapa bars in the historic centre and its fried fish on the beaches, it also has a fabulous nightlife. You can stay here for months and won´t run out of things to do and places to explore. Granada and Ronda being one hour's drive away

Language Schools: There are many Language schools in the Pedregalejo and El Palo area.

PERFECT EASTER HOLIDAY IN ANDALUCIA

  • 5 out of 5
We (a family with 3 adult children) had such a good time at Easter 2012 in Barbara’s house at El Palo Beach, Malaga. The house is situated on a small path with no traffic and only some steps from the beach and the promenade. A supermarket and a lot of small shops are only some minutes away. You can go into Malaga City by bus which takes about 15 minutes.

We had a car and have been to a lot of places in Andalucia. The Semana Santa processions werde so impressive.

Even if there was not yet season, at the weekend all restaurants near the house opened and the Malaga residents walked along the promenade and had a good time having lunch with the famous fish dishes from the region, p.ex. sardines prepared on old boats over the grill.

The kitchen is very well equipped with all you need for cooking and with a Spanish cookbook! The living room has got satellite TV and lots of DVDs and books all over the house + Free Wifi !
On the first floor you have got 3 bedrooms with comfortable beds and wardrobes with many blankets, sheets and towels as well as a small bathroom with shower. You will find a second spacious bathroom on the ground floor.

On the second floor you have got a second kitchen which will be so practical for the outdoor season as well as a washing machine! And a very nice terrace with glass for the windy days with a splendid view over the beach and the harbour where you can watch all the different cruise liners coming to Malaga every day. Table and enough chairs for having breakfast or lunch or enjoying the sun on windy days! A lot of plants and nice lights make you feel very comfortable.
You can climb the roof terrace on the top of the house which is just the highlight! Ideal for sunbaths in the deckchair!

One of our best places we have been in the last years with enough space for everybody!

The landlady was very helpful and returned even a forgotten bracelet without charges!

ROOMY EL PALO HOUSE

  • 5 out of 5
We stayed in this roomy house for a week in early May. The weather was perfect for us, mid twenties during the day and pleasantly cooler at night. As we were only a couple, we didn't even use most of the rooms, spending most of our time on the lower garden terrace with the small kitchen attached, enjoying breakfast there and a glass of wine in the evening.

On arrival, we found the house well-maintained and spotless, the bathrooms fresh and modern. Cupboards were well-stocked with almost everything you might need, washing up liquid, t.rolls etc. The owner, Barbara, obviously works hard to maintain this high standard. She was also on hand to help whenever needed but not at all intrusive if help wasn't required.

As has been said, the area is completely Spanish working class and all the restaurants along the beach are fish restaurants, so if you like fish and seafood, you will be in your element. The fish is cooked on open wood-burning fires. To avoid the smoke, we'd advise choosing one where the cooking takes place at some distance from the dining area!

Travelling into Malaga is super easy, the bus service is cheap, convenient and frequent. We ate lunch in Malaga on a few occasions and found there were very good value 'menus del dia', only around €12 for 3 courses including glass of wine and coffee! We really liked Malaga, full of interest with architecture, art museums, great choice of restaurants, modern shopping as well as the usual tourist shops, modern port area with more cafes/shops/restaurants, beach etc.

All in all, we had a great holiday and hope to return

ALL YOU WANT IN A MALAGA HOLIDAY RENTAL

  • 5 out of 5
The house is out of city termoil, close to the beach in suburb El Palo. The roof terrasses, partly windshielded, are great, also in March. The house is well equipped. Supermarkets and other stores at walking distance. Barbara provided perfect service.
On the beach-boulevard you can easily park your car (at least during our stay).

VERY LOVELY PROPERTY IN A GREAT LOCATION

  • 5 out of 5
We really appreciated being in this house which was very well equipped for people like us who like to cook on holiday. There were good local shops for food shopping. Having the extra kitchen at the top of the house was fantastic for breakfasts and lunches on the terraces. When we did not feel like cooking there are lots of lovely places to eat excellent fish and seafood freshly cooked. The house was very clean and looked after and it was really useful that Barbara, owner lived opposite us to meet and greet and arranged taxi transfers for us which worked really well. Málaga is only 20 minutes away by a really good bus service where there are loads of things to see and do. Enjoy the walks along the sea front.

A REALLY GREAT HOUSE!

  • 5 out of 5
We found this house full of character and really enjoyed our stay here. It was very much like staying in someone's home rather than a holiday place. The area was very spanish which was great for using our few words of the language. The buses were very easy to use and very cheap. Would heartily recommend to anyone who enjoys the real spain.

A SECRET TREASURE OF MALAGA

  • 5 out of 5
We, a family of two adults and two kids, spent marvelous three weeks at this house that truly became our second home. The house has excellent location in a quiet very narrow street and yet only couple of steps from the beach. There are countless beach restaurants along the promenade where you can take delicious grilled fish for lunch or dinner. Not far away there is also a restaurant area if you would like to try some more sophisticated local dishes. Only 10-minutes walk takes you to supermarket or local market to buy fresh fish, meat and fruit.

The weather was not what we had expected - through three weeks in June there were only 5 or 6 really hot beach days. But we travelled a lot. There is direct bus to Malaga rail station where you can rent a car or take train to almost everywhere. And if you prefer buses there is direct bus from El Palo to Nerja (about 1h 15 min). It is not easy to park the car near the house (we found it almost impossible), but there is underground parking not far away.

We like cooking and eating in, and the house had all the utilities for that. There are numerous dishes, cooking utensils, and spices. Each kitchen has its own microwave and coffee machine. Wifi is available through the entire house. It didn't work well at the ground floor, but was good at the first floor and especially at the terrace. The stairs are rather high, so the house may be not very suitable for elderly people or families with very small and active people.

Our charming hostess Barbara lived just in the opposite house. We really appreciated it when forgot both keys inside! I highly recommend this place. We have already booked our next stay in El Palo!

Prekrasny dom i prekrasnoye mesto! No v El Palo tozhe est' chem zanyzt'sa - mnogo restoranov, chisty plyazh so vsemi udobstvami, malo narodu. nam ponravilos' gorazdo bolshe chem v Nerje. More holodnoye, no ob etom vse navernoye znaut. Dom v dvuh minutah ot plyazha, ochen pryatny i accuratny, sama hozayka tozhe ochen milaya i vsegda gotova poyti navstrechu. Edinstvennoye, chto dom orientirovan verticalno - dve dostatochno krutye lestnitsy, tak chto trebyet nekotoroy fizicheskoy podgotovki, esli budete mnogo vremeni provodit' na terrace. I eshe nemnogo slabovat vnizu signal wifi.

Please take note. The area where the house is situated is not really a tourist area so there is not much English spoken.

All the neighbours are very friendly. The waiters in the many restaurants and bars along the sea front do their best to try and understand what you say. Lots of people have great fun trying to explain what they would like to have and sometimes they even get what they ordered!

Malaga centre is not only the perfect place to explore the many historical monuments, atmospheric little streets and squares with delightful café culture, but it is also a wonderful shopping centre. There are buses going into the centre every 8 minutes and after 11.30 at night buses run every 45minutes all through the night

Golf: El Candado Golf course is a 10 minute walk away

Ski: Sierra Nevada in Granada is an hours drive away
