We chose Hout Bay as it is still part of Cape Town area but is in a family friendly environment of the village. The apartment block seems idea to us in that it is modern, attractive building, just metres from the beach, good security and car parking and with access to both gym and pool in the complex.
Although 2 bedrooms the sofa bed provides additional sleeping capacity, the rooms are a good size and very airy providing good space for a large family group.
Hout Bay is a pretty fishing village at the edge of a wide green valley, surrounded by mountains on 3 sides and the sea on the 4th side. Just a 25 minute drive from the V & A Waterfront and the iconic table mountain to the north, Hout Bay is also an excellent starting point to explore the southern peninsula, driving along Chapmans Peak drive, arguably one of the world's best ocean drives to visit a variety of superb attractions from whale watching, the penguin sanctuary at Boulders beach and down to Cape Point which is a world heritage site where antelope, zebra, and ostrich roam free.
