Thank you for a wonderful stay at Footprints. We would love to return.
Richard Affleck, owner
Hi! I'm Richard, the owner of Footprints Villa. I live in Bowness in the Lake District, with my partner and children of assorted ages!
Thank you for taking the time to check out my Puerto Pollensa home and if you wish to come and stay, please just complete the enquiry form and I'll get back to you immediately. I directly manage all my clients' enquiries (no call centre agents for me!) and endeavour to provide a tip top service, from first enquiry, through pre-arrival planning and information and am always available during your stay, as is my manager in resort who lives close by for all your needs.
I bought this house a few years ago, but as it was built in the 60's in a rather basic fashion, down it came and with the help of a brilliant and sought after Palma architect and an excellent local firm, we created Footprints, using modern techniques, lovely local materials (all the exceptional joinery, doors, windows etc where made in Pollenca!) and simple thought of how one would wish to live with family and friends in the sun...for those precious week(s) of holiday time.
Why this property?....easy. Location is a given....so close to the sea you can smell it and walk to it in minutes, as well as great places to eat and drink along the famous sea-edge Pine Walk.
The villa is at the western end, so rarely busy as perfectly distanced from the town but within easy reach on foot.
Set amounts a small gathering of other private homes it's aspect was also vital in picking the location. It's quiet, safe and homely.
And it's south facing, so sunny all day (although well shaded decks if it gets too hot!). The private pool help there of course, not to mention a quick dip in the sea followed by cocktails at the Illa D'or beach bar of course!
It's unique benefits, save the location are, I feel, a great use of space in the design....large open plan living space, leading out, via 3 huge glass sliding doors onto the pool deck. Four bedrooms, 2 at each end of the villa are uniquely furnished, with great beds and high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and duvets.
As the villa is all on one level, its ideal too for those members of your group who may be less able to get around independently. My step sister has been wheelchair bound with MS (sadly only in her 40's) so design ideas like a sliding pocket door to one wet room, low lip main access doors (we even have a ramp if needed) grab rails in one bathroom....all add up to easing independence for those who want it and deserve it as they wish.
To add security, the entire villa is fenced with just one access gate, so keeping wandering little guests within the perimeter is assured!
There is an expansive roof terrace too, with new canopy 'sail' shade if needed and for 2014, I'm adding more 'chill out' furniture....it's always proved popular for adults and especially teenagers to use it as 'their space', so I'm enhancing this mountain view space.
Beyond furniture, English TV, wireless, pool towels, bathrobes etc etc all of which guests rightly expect, I feel the most important 'unique benefit' of any holiday home is how it works for the families and friends who stay there and thus my focus, from design, through construction and to being in operation, is to apply every small details I know I would want, and working year on year to pick up on suggestions from past and returning clients to ever evolve Footprints into a memorable, relaxing and happy home for all, young and old. Holidays must be the best bits of our lives & times together, and thus I hope Footprints delivers for those who choose to stay.
