Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Bradwell - E4732

House in Tideswell, Peak District, Derbyshire, England - Sleeps 4-6 People

Beautiful period cottage with large living space situated in Tideswell, in the heart of the peak district. Our welcoming, comfortable cottage is ideally situated for walking and sightseeing in this area of outstanding natural beauty. The cottage is well equipped with all modern amenities, with 2 bedrooms offering views of the surrounding hills and village. Tideswell, known as the 'Cathedral of the Peaks', has a variety of quality local shops, cafes and pubs, and is midway between the market towns of Bakewell and Buxton.

In Autumn 2014, we installed a new log burner in the lounge to help warm the winter evenings.

About Hilary Smart

I'm Hilary and have owned this cottage since 1997. Now retired and living in Nottingham, I had intended to sell the cottage after a long period of having tenants. However, my two grown-up daughters decided to visit with their families and loved it so much, they convinced me not to sell it. So following a complete refurbishment, we are now offering the cottage for holiday lets. We hope you enjoy it too! My grandchildren [aged between 8 and5 ] love coming to stay, and there are many activities they love in the area, especially Monsal cycle trail. Older friends enjoy the comfort of the cottage, and easy access to walks and places of interest.

Why Hilary Smart chose Bradwell

Easy access from Sheffield where I was working and such a beautiful relaxing place but with good amenities.

What makes this cottage unique

Tideswell easy to access from where I am now living. It is not so remote that I can't get all I need in shopping, eating etc. There is good walking without the need to travel; interesting laces to visit and reasonable public transport.

Excellent cottage

  • 4 of 5

With 2 friends we stayed for a long weekend and loved the cottage. It is not my first time here but it was for my friends and they were very impressed. The evenings were chilly, but the central heating was excellent and heated the house up quickly. We had glorious weather the whole weekend, so that helped our stay.

Not too impressed with the local pubs for meals but maybe they were having a bad day.

I would definitely recommend the house to friends.

Lovely cottage in a wonderful location

  • 4 of 5

We spent three days/nights in this lovely and spacious cottage. The house has all the necessary facilities and appliances. It is located in a lovely village near outstanding walking paths. The cottage is spacious and particularly the bathroom is newly refurbished and lovely. Our only concern was the cleaning as the previous occupiers had cat with them and there was hair around the living room. It should be noted that both Ms Hilary and Helen were really friendly, helpful and descriptive. We had great time and the cottage is highly recommended for both couples and families.

Lovely Comfortable Cottage

  • 4 of 5

Our family spent a lovely week in this very comfortable, well equipped cottage in the beautiful Tideswell Village. Lots of extra little touches - toys, DVDs, books, local maps and information etc

We found it to be an ideal location for enjoying scenic walks straight from the front door, for visiting Carsington Waters and the Heights of Abraham.
