This is an elegant Aristocratic Townhouse built in 1904 from Indiana limestone and Italian marble.

Set in an exceptionally tranquil and serene UES block. Only 30 paces from Central Park.

My husband and I live on the top three floors of the house (floors 4, 5 & 6).

The lower floors we have converted into completely separate & very private guest apartments (all independent entry) available for short term let year-round.

OWNERS and Maintenance Personnel on Premises FULL-TIME

At Home in Manhatten

We are Canadian and have travelled extensively all over the world. Therefore we have had many experiences with which to compare Property 808231. It is certainly the best place I have stayed in NYC, and I have stayed at some very nice hotels in this beautiful city. This, however, is different - Property 808231 gives you all the comfort of a good hotel with the feeling of community and a local experience. That is priceless.

My husband and I stayed in this fabulous townhouse in August with our daughter and son-in-law and their 9 month old baby. They stayed in the Grand White Loft and we in the Petit flat. Both were extremely clean and comfortable. The Petit Flat is just that - tres petit - but it is indeed "charmant" and suited our purposes perfectly. We gathered as a family in the Loft and used the petit flat as our bedroom.
The location is fantastic - right next to Central Park and around the corner from wonderful shopping and restaurants. The Met and the Frick are very close by and walking through the park made trips further afield very enjoyable!

We had some unexpected business to transact while we in the city and Julia was helpful and delightful in arranging details for us. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt like house guests, but with full concierge service and daily housekeeping. It couldn't have been nicer.

My benchmark for a really good vacation is when I start to look at real estate to buy in the neighbourhood. However with Julia's townhouse on a perfect corner of the Upper East Side I have found my own little getaway!
We will return again. Thank you for a wonderful and hospitable stay!

Grande White Loft - Definitely Recommend!

My family and I recently had the opportunity to stay in the Grande White Loft. Our group included my husband, my 10-month-old daughter, my sister, and a very good friend. We all live in CA and have very demanding jobs, so a trip across country doesn’t happen too often. I must preface this by saying that I lived on East 76th in 1999 – 2001, so when I found out that we were traveling to NY, I immediately sought out vacation rentals on the Upper East Side. I’m obviously biased, but I believe this is the best part of the city! Close to the park, museums, easy subway access, quiet, and a great selection of shops and restaurants.

This trip was my husband’s first time to NY (he’s from Germany), so I really wanted to stay somewhere special. I also wanted to be in a place that felt like home…lots of space, a kitchen, laundry if we needed it, etc. Being cooped up in a hotel room with a 10-month-old for several days did not sound like fun. When I saw the posting for the Fifth Avenue Townhouse, I immediately contacted Julia in hopes that we could work something out. I was thrilled to find out that she had availability and was impressed by her prompt replies and customer service before we even arrived in NY.

Before our trip, we looked at the photos of the Grande White Loft many times. We were not disappointed when we saw it in person. It’s a gorgeous loft…very light and airy. We immediately felt comfortable and were very impressed with Julia’s staff. We definitely felt at home. Much better than a nice hotel…all the service and amenities, yet the comfort, safety, and hospitality of staying in a good friend’s home. I suppose the only difference is that my friend wouldn’t launder all of my dirty clothes w/o me even having to ask!

I definitely recommend staying in one of Julia’s apartments. The service starts before you even arrive. I don’t know when Julia sleeps…but I do know that she gets out and enjoys herself a bit as she had great neighborhood restaurant recommendations!!

Lovely NYC stay in the Grand White Loft

Traveling with our 5 month old granddaughter & adult children to NYC we found a true home away from home in the Grande White Loft. While we enjoyed the bustle of the city during the day, the escape to the quite upper manhattan residence was a perfect reprive to rest & recharge. The owner's suggestions for neighborhood dining, park jogging and museum strolling made the trip the most memorable of our many trips to NYC. We enthusiastically recommend these accommodations to anyone looking for a native New Yorker experience!

Lovely place, great location

Beautiful apartment with elegant and nice furnishings. I and my husband had a lovely time staying in this apartment. Situated in safe neighborhood, we usually just walked to the restaurants in the area. What I really loved about this apartment is its close proximity to Central Park. Would love stay in this place again when I get back.

Amazing location and wonderful hosts!

We have stayed here twice and both times were so happy we had done so. The location cannot be beat - right by Central Park and near so many great things on the Upper East Side. Julia does an excellent job coordinating all of the details, and the apartments are extremely clean and comfortable. We have traveled with our two toddlers both times, and our family of 4 had plenty of room. The kitchens and fold-out beds make traveling as a family incredibly easy. We will definitely be staying there again!
