About Michael Inman
We currently live in our Dutch Barge built in 1926, situated in Conyer Creek near Faversham in Kent. I was bought up in Yorkshire Northern England, and my wife Sally was bought up in Hertfordshire. We have 2 sons, one lives in Australia, and the other in Beckenham UK. We have 2 grandsons, aged 10 and 6.
We have worked on our barge and intend travelling the waterways of Europe. We have done a lot of work on the house, which was neglected and overgrown, and then we also bought the small cottage next door in 2007, which we are currently working on having had a new roof and timbers fitted, and stripped out the inside.
Michael Inman purchased this house in 2004
Why Michael Inman chose Isserpent
We wanted an south facing house with a secure and easy garden, with a workshop, and a south facing terrace. We also wanted to be on the edge of the village, with a tennis court, boule area, and outside table tennis all belonging to the village, next door to our garden. We wanted a village with a shop and restaurant both of which we have and close to the mountains. We also wanted to be near bigger villages or towns for such facilities as swimming pools and supermarkets etc, again we just 10 Km from 2 larger villages.
What makes this house unique
The property when we bought it had potential, but above all was private, and south facing to catch all the sun. it needed a lot of work, but it had good sized rooms and nice views out of the windows. 98% of the work has been done now and we intend finishing in the next few months, painting the front for example. We have garage for the car and storage and we have converted a large workshop area into a lovely light sitting room with wood burning stove..
