Flat in Barcelona on Bilbao Street
This flat was exactly as listed: bright, clean, comfortable. Plenty of crockery, pots, pans, flatware, glasses, etc. Balcony looks out onto the back of the building, making it a quieter place than if the balcony were on the front side facing the busy street. This year, we needed no customer service, but in the past, anything that needed to be fixed was done so within 24 hours. The flat is a 15 min. stroll or 10 min. brisk walk to the beach. There are several fruit and vegetable shops, a supermarket, bars for a morning coffee and sweet roll or for a beer or wine in the evening, and several bakeries just steps away from the flat, almost one on every corner. There is also a large market 5 minutes away on foot that sells fresh fish, meat, cheese, and ready-made take-out dishes on the ground floor (Mercat del Poble Nou) and a large supermarket on the floor above. The main promenade is the Rambla del Poble Nou is 3 minutes away (a smaller version of the more famous Rambla in downtown Barcelona). It has many restaurants, and shops of all kinds (clothes, shoes, toys, etc.).
The most popular attraction is the beach which is close, clean, and a great place to go morning and afternoon. There are so many places to eat on the Rambla that it's hard to recommend one: Rest. de la Aliança del Poble Nou, La Tertulia are two that offer good, reasonably priced noon meals.
The flat is two minutes from the metro or underground, so you can go anywhere in Barcelona inexpensively and quickly.
We have stayed at this flat for four years and recommend it highly.
Owner's Response: Thanks! It is always a pleasure to have you to stay. I do hope we see you next year too.
