Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Rhosneigr - Shearwater

Modernism - Comfort - Style - Exclusivity

The property is now FOR SALE but is still available for rent until September.

A cutting edge, eco friendly beach house situated in the original part of Rhosneigr and close to the beaches. This avant garde residence offers stylish, chic, spacious accommodation and innovative technology to make your stay very comfortable.

The ground floor consists of 2 spacious, bright double bedrooms with oak flooring, 2 wet rooms/bathroom and utility room (washer/dryer) with porcelain tiled under floor heating. The first floor is light and capacious incorporating an open plan dining / living area with fully equipped kitchen (oven/microwave/dishwasher/freezer/fridge/coffee machine/wine cooler). Oak flooring throughout. A 'Morso' wood burning stove provides radiant heat and a romantic glow for those nights with a chill in the air when you want to curl up with a good book, watch a film, or just chat. Large double aspect folding sliding doors open onto a south facing cantilevered balcony with views of the sea and mountains.

The property is not suitable for children between the ages of 'walking' and 10. No pets - sorry.

The house is a recent self build. It is a home, not a business. The calendar is a rough guide to availability only. We are flexible* on start dates, arrivals and departures. The restriction on small children is due to the amount of interior glass and highly polished surfaces. Babies are fine. Please feel free to contact us with any additional enquiries you may have.

[* Arrival/departure times can occasionally be adjusted to afford you more time at the property for an additional flat fee of £35].

RAF Valley (which is 1 mile to the north of Rhosneigr) is where the UK's future fighter pilots train prior to moving on to Tornado and Typhoon jets. RAF Valley is also home to the Search and Rescue (SAR) Force headquarters which fly the venerable yellow Sea Kings that can be seen all over the country and in the Falklands.

Excellent accommodation in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a week at shearwater and found it to be a very highly furnished property, exceptionally clean and great location for unwinding at - for all the family. Absolutely gorgeous beach walks only minutes away and good surf on broad beach which is literally minutes away.

Beautiful, spotless house in lovely location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Shearwater. The house was in immaculate condition and everything was provided for our comfort including a log burner with which to create a cosy environment in the evening.

There were plenty of restaurants with good food and the kitchen was well equipped.

There was a splendid beach less than three minutes from the house and we enjoyed visiting sights such as Plas Newydd, home of the Marquess of Anglesey, with picturesque views of Snowdonia.

The owners Wayne and Jan were very helpful and the communication was good.

A stylish treat!

  • 5 of 5

It’s sometimes a risk to book holiday accommodation online. You rely on the photographs and reviews and try to read between the lines to find the catch. Well, as soon as my husband and I arrived at Shearwater and opened the door, we knew we’d found a real pearl. The photographs do not lie – the house is gorgeous, spacious, immaculately clean throughout and very classy. We were there for 3 nights in early December and our friends said ‘Anglesey? You’ll be freezing!’. Well, although it was extremely cold and windy outside, Shearwater proved them wrong. The heating worked well, the underfloor heating added background cosiness and, as for the log burning stove – what a treat!

The house is ideally located, being on a quiet lane that leads directly to one of the beaches and is very close to the shops and cafes of Rhosneigr. The daylight hours were obviously short, given the time of year, but this had the added bonus of providing a stunning sunset into the sea viewed directly from the sofa.

Many thanks to Wayne and Jan for setting such a high standard and for their thoughtful touches throughout the house – literally everything you could think of is provided. (Thanks to them also for posting back some clothes we accidentally left behind. We had settled in too well!). We will definitely be back!

Amazing place.

  • 5 of 5

My fiancé just took me to Shearwater for 3 nights for my birthday. I'd seen the photographs online and thought it looked lovely, but when we arrived we were both blown away by how awesome the place is.

We recently stayed in the duke of portland boathouse, which was perfect and we thought anywhere else would struggle to compare. But Shearwater is equally as nice just in a much more modern way. It still managed To be warm and homely.

Its beautifully designed and faultless.

Once we started to nosey around we then found all the other countless little details that just finished it off perfectly, milk in the fridge, tea and coffee, straightners in the bedroom , ipod left in the dock, razors and essentials in the bathroom.... Everything you could think of had been thought about and covered.

In addition the house is perfectly located very close to the beach with awesome views out of all the windows. Rhosneigr itself is a really nice little place with good restaurants and cafe, I imagine in summer it would be better still. Raf valley is just across the water so we got to watch jets taking off and circling each morning.

I've probably missed loads off, but we really can't rate this place highly enough , I cannot think of anything that could make it better.

The house is a credit to Wayne and Jan, and I can only hope we can have somewhere exactly like this in Anglesey in years to come!

Chris and Jen.

Amazing in every way !

  • 5 of 5

I have just spent 3 nights at Shearwater with my fiancé for my birthday. I don't know how to rate it highly enough , everything about it is absolutely perfect.

The entire design of the house is stunning, and to add to this every minor detail has been covered with thought for guests. All the little things like tea and coffee, milk in the fridge, spare toothbrush ( I forgot mine and pinched one ) the list goes on ... There is nothing that hasn't been considered.

In addition to all the above the location is brilliant. So close to the beach and the high street. And waking up to jets taking off from RAF Valley just across the water ...

We really were blown away by Shearwater, its a credit to Wayne and Jan and we will be coming back soon without a doubt.

Shearwater Rhosneigr - A fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful house perfectly designed and finished by Jan and Wayne that welcomes you the moment that you step into the property. The upstairs living room and kitchen are modern and luxurious with everything that you could wish for and more. The views of the sea to the south and west from the balcony are very pleasant even on a cool damp and windy November weekend. However after lighting the superb log fire it felt like our own piece of heaven enjoyed with a glass or two of wine.

Downstairs the bedrooms are large and very comfortable and we all slept very well. Both bathrooms are luxurious and very well equipped and I thouroughly enjoyed a wonderful bath by candlelight. We walked down to the beach which was only two minutes away every morning.

This is a fantastic house that we did not want to leave and we will certainly be coming back to stay here

At the far end of the village is the Anglesey Golf Club 18 hole links course. Further afield there is the Snowdonia National Park for walkers, castles to explore, Go Karting, Sea World, Butterfly World and many other attractions to suit all the family.

Anglesey is one big outbound adventure island with its own micro climate and far from the madding crowd.

Other Activities: Kite surfing; canoeing; Go Karting; National Trust properties; bird sanctuaries; painting; library; lake.

Golf: Royal Anglesey Golf Club course in Rhosneigr is 400 yards away and is an 18 holes links course (6330 yards, Par 71), set amongst sand dunes, it is renowned for its excellent greens and numerous streams. This golf course is used for North Wales County championship matches and because of its even nature, it is a fair test for golfers of all abilities.
