A Wonderful Family Stay
My wife and I, with son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren (ages 7 and 9) enjoyed a wonderful week at the Mas. There is little to add to other reviews....our son and daughter-in-law, both of whom live strenuous lives, said that there stay was the most relaxing time they've had in years, while the grandchildren loved to retire to the loft to read, when they weren't in the pool or talking to the donkey (!) while we found it a perfect place to be with family. The location couldn't be better, with proximity to all of the cultural amenities mentioned in other reviews as well as great beaches and restaurants. Theo took good care of us in an unobtrusive way. Highly recommended for a family or group of friends - good value for parties of six or more.

Beautiful 400-year-old Catalonian farmhouse
This 400-year-old Catalonian farmhouse is beautiful, and very well maintained. The rooms are huge, there are several bedrooms with large bathrooms, a library containing many books, art throughout, a piano, a children's room with hundreds of toys in it, a dining area in the kitchen with table to seat 24, plus a smaller dining area attached, an absolutely spectacular, comfortable, modern sitting room complete with massive fireplace, bar, and television. There is also wifi. Bathrooms are completely modernized, and the kitchen/pantry area includes a dishwasher, clothes-washer and dryer, along with excellent cooking facilities. The updating has not detracted from the old farmhouse atmosphere in any way. Family photos are everywhere, giving the feeling of a loved and well-used home. The large, beautiful garden with exquisitely tiled pool, is replete with flowers, trees, and shrubs as well as an outdoor eating area, and large play space for children. There are three horses and a donkey living in an adjacent field, all of which enjoyed the carrots, lettuce and apples we took to them on a daily basis. For dog-lovers, there is a large, friendly one who is great with children (but only if you want him around. Otherwise he is taken off by his owner.) Miguel and Theo are family retainers living on the property and both are available and willing to take care of any needs in an unobtrusive way. Members of the family who own the place also dropped by to make sure we were comfortable, and declared themselves available, should we need assistance. The location is excellent, with beautiful beaches, and restaurants nearby, as well as the Dali Museum in Figueres, two first-class archaeological sites at Emporion and Ullastret, the delightful city of Girona, an interesting little medieval town nearby called Pals,, and—very close--La Bisbal, a centre for artisanal pottery that is hard to resist. Barcelona is not far away and can easily be reached via motorway. Our family, including the grandchildren, all had a great holiday in this a beautiful, historic house, and we would recommend it without hesitation to anyone thinking of coming to the Catalonian area of Spain. A grand and amazing house and property
This was a grand and amazing house to rent. We were a group of 7, with two kids. The grounds were wonderful, with a lovely sitting area, great playing space, and a temperate and refreshing pool. The house itself is a marvel. It clearly was home to a family with great tastes in art and literature. There are wonderful historical books to browse through, interesting nick nacks, paintings and art objects in all rooms. The bathrooms are modern, as is much of the decor in the living area. There is a great bar for entertaining, the cable TV and wifi worked perfectly. Perhaps the best part of the stay was the unobtrusive but incredibly helpful staff at the place -- Miguel, who greeted us, and Theo who takes care of day to day maintenance. They both live in other buildings on the property, but are very respectful of your space. At the same time, they are generous with their time and have a typically Spanish willingness to drop everything and help you with anything that comes up. For kids this place is a joy. The kids' room contains many games and toys from when the children of the family were growing up. These must also have been updated (perhaps with grandkids?) as some of the games and toys there were much more recent. The house is old, but very well maintained, with a well appointed kitchen and chef quality stove, cooking utensils and servings for many, many people. As the main cook, I loved preparing fresh local produce in the kitchen there. The local attractions are abundant, from ancient ruins to lively beaches.

Serene and Pastoral
We had a wonderful time at the farm house. It was beautiful and so serene and pastoral - exactly what we were looking for in a vacation. The kids enjoyed playing in the pool and long peaceful walks. The house was also close to the beach so it was a quick drive (though frankly the house was so great we never wanted to leave). We met the family that owned the house, and they could not have been more gracious and lovely. We would recommend this house to all our friends and family.

Our Family had a wonderful stay
The listing description is accurate and the property was more opulent than the pictures were able to portray. The property was clean and well-maintained. The owner provided excellent customer service. The dedicated staff was genuinely concerned that our stay was positively memorable. The catering we requested was exceptionally well prepared on site. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives. The location is private and peaceful but very convenient to the beaches, museums, shops and restaurants. The property owner was a gracious host. We hope to return again soon.
